I think the laptimes for this car speak for themselves. But it is a racecar. I probably wouldn't put multiple aero devices on the trunk of a street car.

One's a Wing, the other's a spoiler. Two different jobs, aero-wise.

A wing uses negative lift from an airfoil (like an inverted wing of an aircraft) to provide downforce.

A spoiler disrupts (or spoils) the airflow coming off the back of the car to create a low-pressure area behind the car. This aids under-car aerodynamics like diffusers, to make them more effective. A larger low-pressure zone means that under-body air will be accelerated out the back more.

So while both are downforce generators on the back of the car, they do so in different ways that can compliment each other. That said, is the spoiler on this car big enough, and the under-car aero developed enough, for there to be a noticeable effect? In stock form, no. But since this is a prototype racer, it's possible. Only their windtunnel team knows.

You and me both. If you could mount a standard side outlet exhaust and fit the rear foglight/reverse lights to that thing it'd be perfect.

THIS! AND where are you doing it?!? Unless you've got forced induction I can't even think of many racetracks where you'd hit that speed.

At stock power with a wing like that I'd bet you'd struggle to even hit 130!!!

Every time I open my mouth about unnecessary Wings, Canards, or Aero Kits, people get all pissy.

Well...OP does have a turbo. But I completely agree with your point.

So thanks for the added pics, that is an incredible setup. First off I play occasionally on race tracks and after getting this car tuned with the turbo and noticing the amount of rear end instability at high speeds I have stayed off the tracks for the time being. I think that the removal of the stock muffler has upset the flow of air under the car enough to make a noticeable difference in handling that the lip spoiler alone can't compensate for. True, a wing like this would be overkill for most driving around town and AutoX events, and I am one of the anti wing crowd as well.

I have plans and an idea on a functional rear diffuser, but I have a few other mods to work on getting on the car before I start custom fabbing stuff like that. That said, looking at the way this wing is mounted leaves me frustrated because those mounts will never be produced within a price I am willing to pay. The wing however could be produced and an alternate support could be used.

How is that to get attention? If it was any lower, the driver wouldn't be able to see.
