I think its safe to say anyone with 600whp on whatever motor it is, isn't concerned about anything other than going fast in a straight line.

I wont be swapping a 2jz over to my car either, but its very cool to see that it can be done and looks practically OEM.
You really have no proof that a 2J is more reliable than our engine at 600hp.... since no one has blown ours up yet.

Anything is possible for the FR-S/BRZ line up. I bet everyone is changing their mod to do list. What's next STi motor going into BRZ or AWD conversion?

That does fit in there sooo perfectly. It's interesting that the 2JZ also has a 86mm stroke and 86mm bore. Along with 6 cylinders, that makes it a 86x86x6. Seems fitting for the FT86.

I just love the combination of a cast iron block, aluminum head. The perfect combo for boost.

It's not that insane either, there are 2JZ-GTE's all over eBay in the $1900-2500 price range. It'd be cool if someone would make a kit to do the swap. The hardest part would be the electronics. So if the kit cost $2500, you'd be talking $5k total for a twin turbo I6. Dial down the boost for a 400HP daily driver then crank it up to 600HP at the track.

Given we have topped 600whp with the current engine already, why invest all this money in an old expensive engine?

This is 2013, not 1996. Let the 2jz die.
because 2jz is one of the few engine designs that were near flawless. pick another engine that has 6 cylinders 3.0 liters and a turbo that can make over 800 horse on stock internals . i think world record on stock internals is now at 1050whp. when you drag im sure they arent worrying about it being older or newer same reason goes for muscle car owners older 426 hemi engines kick the shit out of most of todays "big block" engines.

just my .02

Rerererrererererererepost!

This setup is so good, yet so bad. It's like they spent all their money on power and nothing else. Aka breaking shit everywhere. I believe they were on stock tires too...
