Keep in mind, the correction factor on the dyno is STD, which will run higher than SAE. For those if you with higher octane ratings do not be disappointed if the numbers are not what you expect if your tuner is using an SAE CF. With that being said, I like how the dip is minimized and how smooth and consistent the increase is throughout the powerband.

So,

Afe Takeda intake + UEL headers + Full Exhaust system + FA20CLUB stage 2 tune with 91octane gas = +17 WHP = +21-22 Crank HP

With 93 octane gas you may have reach what somewhere around +20-22WHP instead ?

FA20 CLUB claim +20 WHP with their stage 2 tune with only an intake + cat-back only ?

Weird or what ?

Every car, dyno, elevation, air temp, and etc is different. It's really only a good tool for measuring specific gains against a specific car.

Also keep in mind that 17WHP is peak HP to the wheels. It is not the overall gain. If you look at the plot there are spots where 20+HP/TQ is gained. That is the most important part.

20HP can be gained with the Stage 2 Tune only with exhaust and intake, but that plot is going to look different, and not have the lowend TQ gains we're seeing here with the addition of the Borla.

It is hard to get a sense of it from the vid.... but how do you like the sound? Is it okay for a daily driver? Too loud?

Translation: Will my girlfriend be pissed if I buy one?

Keep the stock exhaust or roll with a Invidia Q300 and you should be good. An already loud exhaust is made much louder with this.

It is a bit much for me personally. Others however don't mind it.

man that kind of blows. I kind of had the feeling it was going to be loud after listening to your cruising video with your v2 exhaust.

I want this so badly but I need to keep it quiet around town. Right now my ARK DT-S exhaust is the perfect tone without drawing attention.

I don't know why people are looking at the damn peak WHP. It seems this car is not going to make much more power no matter what the setup, but the torque dip which is what makes this car feel slow is eliminated and THAT'S the important factor.

Peak HP is important also for any car enthusiast but I must admit that your comment about the low end torque is on the spot.

I'm sure I will love the sound of my greddy sp elite in combo with the borla UEL ! It should be quieter then that.

Oh no doubt, Peak HP should definitely be taken into consideration but just browsing the rest of the forums and seeing dyno results from other setups, it seems we are kind of limited to peak power.

I'm quite happy right now with just a catback and perrin tune...all thats needed is that dip to go away some. I honestly think that this could possibly take away the temptation of me wanting to supercharge or turbocharge this thing. The car is great about 5k rpms.

I haven't bothered adding any other exhaust components because the noise level just doesn't seem worth it to me for the power you gain from it.

@xxscaxx If you want it quiet just make to to run it with a catted front pipe, I ordered these headers waiting for them to come in , and bought a j2, i plan to paint the welds, should be a fine exhasut i like how it sounds, but im going to use a the factory over pipe and down pipe for a little bit, till i can get the nameless one peice catted overpipe mid pipe, which come with a resonator that helps keep it quiet, i think if you had these headers and a stock front pipe , or a catted resonated front pipe , you would sound fine around town, maybe a little louder when you punch it, but cruiseing speeds should be fine. I speak from experince with other cars, but not the frs or a boxer motor, so i may be wroung. Headers are always my first upgrade, and i always use a cat cause rasp sounds ghetto to me. Ive never had a car that was abouve the nj legal limit of 95 decibals. "Forgive the speeling errors , Ive had a few after a long day of customizing my head lights, painted black , with reflectors night shaded, angel eyes and lighting, and night shaded side reflectors and turn signal housings looks sweet, took 10 hours Ill be making a profile tommorow with results.

i only have a catback with a resonator, and i don't plan on touching the overpipe/downpipe unles I go F/I.

I read it wrong I think, I thought @FT-86 SpeedFactory installed just this header and their catback and it seemed pretty loud in their driving videos but looking back now it was with a catless downpipe.

Still, we would be removing a cat so the volume will go up. I'm very temped though. I'm trying to wait to see what the JDL UEL header brings first...I tend to buy on impulse too much

For what the header costs and what it does in the midrange especially the tq dip area its performing well. Peak numbers will be better on 93 octane cars but Jeremy and the guys went out of their way to test this product on their own dollar so dont bash the results. The header performs well and can be better not to mention we havent tested 93 or E85 yet. Their car is doing well for their geographical elevation & octane level. More to come.....

Its that curve that makes this so intriguing. It almost completely gets rid of the dead spot in our rpms that drive me nuts. Im very excited to get this. Hopefully the 15th , they arrive . That rumble is a added bonus that almost makes it worth buying alone. the couple horse power total gain is nice, but the gain throughout the rpms is what makes this make a difference. I wouldnt be supprised if with the right na set up, and a tune, with these headers and e85 , will be seeing alot more 200 + fr-s and brzs out there. Hopefully jersey gets e85 sometime soon.

So, @FT-86 SpeedFactory, what are your impressions of the header? Have you had a chance to do some road testing with it? Hows that low end power compared to the configuration you had prior?
