I have mixed feelings about the final product being named the 2000GT: yes the parallels are striking, including the window line, optional dash gauge pod, and everything else that was mentioned... but the 2000GT was a rare bird and IMO it should stay that way.

i have 8 frames from that scene that suggests that it is indeed carbon fiber pattern, and with no other pattern found around the area to see if its just the video. There is a big chance that the production model FRS and BRZ (most likely high-spec) will have carbon roof.

I'm making a wild guess here but could it be called DE-86? D for the D-4S engine, E from the original AE 86 being a Corolla and 86 cause it's the modern day AE 86.

Maybe the carbon fibre roof is only for the TRD version, since it was shown in the same sequence as the carbon fibre centre console.

I got goosebumps watching that. CF roof was what I thought on the first watch. Led tails look perfect with the circle, loving the CF gauge pod also. I want this car so bad, I feel like a child again. Gimmie!!!

highly doubt it since the names have already been selected and tradedmarked

besides the ft86 is a spiritual successor since there has been many like the Altezza/IS200 with BEAMS power
