I tinkered with techstream today. There is an option to see if your ECU supports DRL. Under the MAIN BODY ECU there is a live data list and it will allow you to test out all the components, including DRL. Go and have a look if DRL is listed there. If it is, there is an option to test it. Key has to be in IG ON and of course there needs to be a relay in the DRL slot

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Does yours show the option to enable/disable them?

Nope, mine does not have an option to enable/disable them. Only diagnostic testing on/off in which case they turn on and off without starting the car and releasing the handbrake.

Thanks, I've found the test - I didn't have the handbrake down but I could hear the relay switching every time you switch it on and off. Nothing from the lights though.

This is a good sign. It means your ECU supports DRL and the relay is wired. Next thing I would do is check the DRL fuse again. Might be a dead fuse in there. And then I would take a multimeter and check if there's any voltage going to the DRL wire in the headlight socket.

Cool, I'm also thinking everything is there but something must be disconnected.

I've had a look at that thread but our colours are completely different by the looks of it.

All the pieces of the puzzle are coming together nicely.
I'm assuming there are 3 12v inputs on te headlights for the LED lights - park, high & low. Only park is connected, and the relay is definitely working. This means they're obviously not connected at all.

We'd need to follow the DRL wires and see where it goes.

1. Not Used (Empty)

2. White - LED High (DRL 3.3W mode, 12V+ *must bypass the resistor on USA FRS to power this)
3. Green - LED Low (12V+ 0.5 w mode)
4. Black 12 Guage - LED Common GND

5. Red (12guage) - HID Ballast 12V +
6. Black (12 guage) - HID Ballast GND

7. Yellow - High Beam bulb position actuator 12+
8. Blue - High Beam bulb position actuator GND

We don't have an empty pin so it's probably safe to assume that the extra pin would be the park lights.

If you look at this pic:

I'm assuming the top row would be for the LED lights?
Black - Ground
White -DRL Low
Brown -DRL High
White -Park

Would need to do a bit more research to be sure.

Sav, I saw the relay diagram you posted on the other thread. You really should be running a fused +12V line from the battery to power the LED HI, instead of running it off the ignition wire. Here's a diagram I sketched. Take note that nothing is connected to 87 of relay 2 and 87a of relay 3, this is very important
