I was under the assumption that Personal/Lite users could not read a tune from their car. Does this also mean that if they edit a map file themselves, like the map they are given when they purchase, they cannot give that edited file to someone else?

The purpose of the Lite version is for non tuners who want to work with a pro user/tuner to get custom files created. This is why there is no editing available in the lite version. Im sure the the person or business that uses the Pro version would not want their intellectual property freely shared. This is why the software allows for an encryption of their work from Personal users. The pro version also has the ability to create a non encrypted file but that is up to the users decision.

Personal users can create their files freely but they are restricted from flashing files since the software is registered to the vehicle id and the registered OP 2.0 cable used to register the software initially. If you need to share a file a simple copy/paste function will still work. A little rough yes but still able to be done.

So if a vendor wanted to make a base map and give it away so users of their intake or exhaust or whateverwidgettheywant they could save the tune so it is un restricted. Equally, if you then go to a pro tuner with that base map for a dyno tune, they can choose to lock or not lock the tuned file.
Yes you are correct on those functions.

This is great. Finally some real engine control for the extreme car nerds out there.

Thanks for the clarification. Looks like a good solution for both tuners and end users.

Numbers were good. Waiting a while for me to drive the car and see how it feels. Then we are putting it back on the dyno to get final numbers. Possibly more tweaks later on as the tuner gets more familiar with the ECU.

Also looks like BRZedit came out with a launch control

Haven't seen any info on launch control.. I did play around with the rev limiters to see if one was stationary and the other was in motion but it just seems like only one of them works, the one set at 7450 stock.. don't recall if it is a or b.
