Just spotted a white BRZ pulled off on the side of 92 West in Foster City with his hazards on and no plates. Asian guy was standing outside. Was about 4:10pm. He later passed me on the freeway. Tried throwing him the peace sign but it seemed like he was looking at me like I was crazy.

I was driving my 240SX this morning to drop off my little sister to school and decided to get gas at a Chevron nearby in Millbrae.

A girl in a red (firestorm) FR-S pulls up behind me and gets gas also. I was pretty amazed. Decided to ask her how she liked the car and all; and I don't know why, I started the question with is it stick shift? The girl gave me a nasty mug and shook her head. So I was like okay. Damn!

Maybe if I was driving my FR-S, maybe the outcome would of been different? Who knows, oh well.

Either she wasn't having a good day, or I just started off in a wrong way. I think I started off in a wrong way. Haha! Oh well, all good. Don't care. Moving on!

If anyone in the Millbrae area see this girl, say hi to her to make her day better or something.

I hope I don't see her again...

Haha I think people tend to take offense because there is a weird stigma about automatics vs manual for people - especially when you start off the convo with it!
You're leaving out the important parts of this convo - like was she cute?

Shoulda asked her to come out to the meets!

Except in this case I have heard the automatic in these cars is actually quite nice, and in a lot of cases "faster" than the 6 speed in terms of quick gear changes.

Gotta get a ride in yours one of these days, haven't experienced an auto fr-s yet.

It's because of the small percentage of people who then go "hurr durr autotragic must not be able to drive like a real man" and just seem to be out to start something. Haters gonna hate.

Although the one time someone opened up the conversation with that to me with my FR-S, it was a nice older gent who was actually wishing he got the AT over the MT BRZ he had. It's nice to see people who can appreciate the car regardless of the transmission.
