Found it! Mwahahahaha!!!! Nice. I guess I didn't go back far enough when I started following your thread months ago. Good work. You never did fill it in to contrast, I see.

Don't you have heated seats with the Limited model? I don't have them so the plaque is filling in empty space otherwise occupied by the switches for the seat heaters.

I left the shift knob alone because I don't trust myself to paint the tiny engravings without messing something up.

Ummmm.... Yes, I do have heated seats. I'm going to find some other location for the plaque. It's just too cool!

If anything it would make a nice desk accessory or paper weight! Get your VIN engraved on it and make it a keepsake if you ever part ways with the car.

So after reading an ongoing thread about oil leaking from the rear passenger's side of the engine, I went ahead and checked mine for leaks, and thankfully it's dry. I'll be keeping an eye on it as I continue to put more miles on the car.

Here's a pic of the plate that many MT owners are seeing slow oil leaks that drip onto the front pipe and result in a burnt oil smell.

Manual states 12 ft/lbs on those bolts

On M/T models, they simply install that plate to block it off, but that area still gets oil into it as it's open to the rest of the head.

Now, here's the key point. There is no gasket behind that plate. There is simply silicone sealant - like the stuff you can buy in the store. And it's not very thick at all. So I wouldn't be surprised if, on some cars, there's just not enough silicone sealant at some point on the plate, and a little bit of oil is leaking out.

We know of this because that's where our mechanical oil pump for our turbo kit mounts...
I'd recommend all MT owners to check theirs and keep an eye on it. It's an easy fix either DIY or at the dealer with some new sealant and retorquing those bolts. It's also easy check by reaching down there (when the car is cool!) and feel the bottom of it with your hand or with a rag.

Installed the GrimmSpeed Master Cylinder Brace today! Got it from @Touge Factory.

I haven't driven it yet to test, but based on all the feedback from other folks with this MCB the pedal feel under threshold braking should be improved/solidified significantly without any of the firewall flex that's present without a brace.

It was really easy to install, especially with all the additional headroom the GS hood struts give.

More brake related goodies on the way next week

I was thinking about snagging some of their products but I really need to see them in person. It just doesn't show me enough in pictures to really understand the look and feel.

Where did you go to get this done? I haven't found a place that would even return my phone calls.

The gauge hood is literally a 2 minute install, so it's easy to swap back if you end up not liking it. OEM fit and finish. The alcantara is the same quality as what Porsche & BMW use in their high end models and the red stitching matches the rest of the stitching in the BRZ perfectly. Since finding out that JPM are local to me I'm very tempted to get their alcantara steering wheel. @Racecomp Engineering has their wheel on their shop car and it looks amazing, probably feels that way too.

I had mine tinted at Royal Treatment off Piedmont close to Lindbergh for $180 total. Their work is top notch and they use high quality Sun Guard ceramic film. I've had two cars done there so far. The location and waiting area aren't that great but the couch is comfy and the big screen is always on. If you don't want to come that far into town you can go to Oasis in Sandy Springs but you'll inevitably pay much more for the job.

That was the one step polish? I just don't understand the difference between Exterior level 1 and exterior level 2 that is listed on his website. I know the more expensive one is a three step polish vs the one step polish. But exterior level one is already 425. If i pay that much I expect it to look good then without having to dish out the extra 300 for exterior level two. Can you confirm that the one step was good enough.
