Drove to work, and will drive again later around 5. Summer tires still on!

You sir are crazy. I drove on those Primacies in the first snow and it was ridiculous. Granted I balded the back ones doing burnouts and AutoX last year...

But I digress.

Blizzak powwwwwwaaa! Man I had no issues. It was funny driving from Arlington to Herndon, watching as the storm got more and more snowy, less and less rainy. Gonna be interesting driving later though.

Really? I drove on the stockers last time it snowed and it did just fine. Granted, I turned off the traction control and my tires are still pretty new. ^_^

It wasn't undriveable, but it definitely didn't feel safe like the Blizzaks. I barely had to change the way I normally drive when I'm on slush and snow. Ice is another story, but I haven't come across any yet today.

Unrelated edit but didn't feel like spamming with more posts:

Anyone going to Great Falls cars and coffee this Saturday?

seems like every time we may get substantial snow my car is in the shop and I'm stuck in a loaner.
the flavor of the month: vw passat. I will never complain about the outback I usually get EVER again. =(

I think it depends on which stock tires you have. The bridgestones have 0 traction whatsoever in the snow. Even new, they have a very shallow tread pattern, that turns into slicks once the tiniest bit of snow gets into the gaps. It was a brutal affair last month in Va Beach when we got snow. I was literally sliding sideways at 10 MPH.

I could definitely see that.

I do still remember the first time I drove my STi home in AK. Driving one home from the dealership in the winter was scary! Threw some Hankook Ipike's on and it drove like a champ!

I didn't get to sleep until ~6am. I wasnt expecting to wake up to snow down here, but of course, I did. The weather said it would change over to snow later in the afternoon.

I finally get to use the snow tires I bought for my other car 3 years ago

I will probably only buy summer tires and drive super careful or not at all in the snow. I mean we just dont get enough snow to justify the expense/traction trade off for what maybe 1-3 days of the year being crap (at least in my MA area).

This fake blizzard is what I mean. Buy for price/grip and wear ratio imo.
