My bad, obviously I'm meaning $60k. He had an additional $20k into it via Brake upgrade, chipped (so more power than the 320hp it already comes with), and other mods I can't remember. We had a good battle and I was eating him up in the corners.....YES my FWD was out cornering him. Scion Driver > Cayman S Driver in this situation. When we hit the straights, we were dead even. He wasn't out accelerating me and my speed was matched with his. He made a mistake going into turn 6 and I was on his back bumper. Hit turn 9 and I got on the throttle a lot sooner so I can get the pass.

PS.....I had a passnger with me also. After our session he came over and had to find out what the Scion had in it . We started chatting after that. Nice guy.

oh and, HELLO FELLOW BOOSTED FWD TORQUE STEER MONSTER!
Wow this is a whole boatload of 12 year old ignorance.

Torque steer is a function of SAI, scrub radius, anti-dive, and instant center. Some FWD cars have absolutely zero detectable torque steer, while others have an atrocious amount. It's all down to the suspension designers' intent. There is a gray area between maximum forward grip, maximum lateral grip, least-corrupt steering feel, and minimum torque steer.

A real quick example: The R53 MINI had minimal anti-dive, and absolutely zero torque steer, even with my 360HP turbo project. Conversely, an R56 MINI has more anti-dive and noticeable torque steer even with the 121HP Cooper. The slight change in geometry made all the difference in the world to torque steer. The only positive of the change between generations is the R56 puts the power down slightly better.

I've chased down Z06 drivers on my track too .

Look for Rhythmnsmoke on Youtube. However I was not shooting internal video when I was chasing down the Cayman. You can only find an external video of the Cayman, but not in my library. My boy was shooting that video and I think his sn on youtube I believe is bsowde.

When I was shooting internal cam, you will see the vids of me chasing down the Evo 7 and an open wheel race car. I like to tell the story during the vid to explain what's happening. Check them out. I'd send a direct link, but I'm on my work computer and Youtube is restricted.

AMEN brotha...

This applies to all drivetrain layouts when racing, but if you look at your wheels/tires from a 4 Quadurant plain/graph with a X and Y axis that is broken into

Acceleration
Braking
Left Lateral Grip
Right Lateral Grip

With your car sitting in the center then you know where your tires grip is. Obviously if you are in the lower left quardrant, then you are under acceleration in a left G turn. How far over in the quadrant come from experience driving.

I probably fumbled the explanation on that, but you kinda get where I'm coming from. I'll look it up again for better explanation when I get home. It's about balancing the throttle, braking and G-forces to know when and where not to do certain things. All in the name of optimizing grip.

Well, you know, most will just think you are full of it if you don't...lol. Especially when you say it's a Scion. Everyone thinks we drive the box shaped 1st gen xB the very moment you say you drive a Scion. And then when I say I race it they look at me weird and wonder how a Boxed 1st gen is worthy of being raced.

TRD kit looks so nice... It just needs some better looking rims, IMO.

I wonder how much of a performance upgrade it will be with the TRD parts and whether or not it'll be worth it.
