86 JDM Headlights

I've read about the easy conversion from the scion frs headlights to the JDM counterpart 86 lights which I would prefer, but does anyone know where they can be found...the only reliable looking source I saw was evasive I think and they were listing them for $2K Any other leads would be much appreciated thanks

Try Luis at Carson Toyota, he can locate JDM parts and get them for you, and is quick and responsive to PM's and Emails

It wont be cheap and it is not exactly easy, requires harness modification etc etc

Yeah, regardless of where you go, they are going to hover right around 2,000. It's not like there is a place out there selling them for $500.

I purchased mine from nigel-jdmparts.com I have yet to receive them as they said it would 6 - 10 weeks and I ordered mine December 15th. Pretty sure I will need the bulbs and ballasts too, but I will wait until I get them to make sure, don't want to make an unnecessary purchase.

Also you want to make sure you get the Eurospec LHD version and not the RHD version. You don't want to blind on-coming traffic.

Like SkAsphalt said, its not a matter of plug and play either, there will be some electrical modification to make them work.

woodlee...i would love to know once to receive your lights what else you need for the install ie ballasts etc.

in the meantime... should I wait to put in HIDs until I get the new set up or will it not really matter ?

I will definitely let you know. I have a post around here somewhere that I started in mid December. I will update that one when my lights arrive along with any additional information I can provide.

You are better off getting the EDM lights as they have the same light throw as USDM lights. If you get the JDM it will throw the wrong way.

Nigel or Luis should be able to source them for you.

Alright guys, my headlights arrived a few days early. I have attached the pictures below. They arrived in two separate boxes and what you see in the picture is all that I received. Upon further inspection it appears at the bulbs are in there.

I need to look a little closer and figure all this out now.

Edit: I just wanted to confirm that there is definitely an hid bulb in there, I took the metal backing off to verify. It also looks likes the ballast is mounted on the top of the housing.

Try PMing bulletproof automotive. I am in the process of purchasing them and they have been great so far. Granted I haven't completed the purchasing process just yet. Will post again once I am all done with the MOD.
