I've never seen another on the road and I'm in NY. Can't be that common.

I get what the OP is saying, though. To some extent we all love exclusivity, but the reality of that in the automotive world, when that car happens to be <$30K, and popular, just isn't feasible. Well, maybe sometimes...

There were only 5100 Ion Redlines produced between 04-07. Only 1100 of those were the Comp. Editions, 700 of which were produced in '06, 108 of which were black. In the 7 years I owned that car, other than a forum meet-up, I saw a total of 3 others in the wild.

I'm not gonna lie, I loved that about the IRL. I loved the fact that I never rolled up to light and looked over to see someone else driving my car. Ultimately, I traded in that 1/108 for a car that will most likely become a pox on the world, so if anyone sees me making similar complaints in the future, tell me to stuff it!

I still like seeing other FR-S/BRZs. It tells me that, yes, there are people out there that still enjoy driving. They're a breath of fresh air amidst a sea of beige Camrys. I feel the same way when I see an MR2, or a Miata, or an S2000.

Just means you need to personalize your's, make it your own through your mods. Besides, the more folks that have these cars, the greater the aftermarket support will be.

I saw the car for the first time february last year. I got it because of how it looks, I enjoy seeing others on the road. The guy who showed me the car still doesn't have his, I got lucky and got mine June 13th.

Boo-Hoo. Sorry you're not a special snowflake anymore. If you want something more rare then you should have gotten the BRZ. More practical would be to just enjoy a great car and be happy that so many other do as well. I've owned a car that no one bought and you don't see that often. Having no aftermarket blows chunks.

lmao. This is pretty amusing. Granted, there's been way too many of these threads.

It's like saying: I built a computer but complain when / if someone else has the same components on their machine as mine does. Does anyone do that? No, and if they do, odds are they have a few ego problems to deal with; usually, you end up chatting with that person about how great what you've got is as you share something in common. Heck, in the case of our car it can be anything from simple improvements you make to how you deal with the defects.

When did we become a people revolted and upset at the idea of someone being like us? I mean hell, 90% of the people on this forum have the car and this forum is continuously growing.

You may as well get out while you still think you're unique for simply having the car, otherwise you might end up getting your feelings hurt. Though if you stick around, you'll probably get more out of it.

-also, are we really discussing the whole automatic thing again? And in a semi-offensive manner at that. Why is it so awful that they made a fun to drive automatic? Shouldn't that be awesome? What's this need for exclusivity? etc, etc, and so on, given that this topic has been beaten to death way too many times. In that case I should be pissed it's available in manual, otherwise I wouldn't have to listen to the crap from that crowd lol....but sadly, a lot of the manual drivers out there are awesome people just like those of us who drive automatics, and make this community what it is. It really is a shame we get along so well.

Very true, I found my wife and I did alot of cruising, like when we were 20, 50 now. We now know where all the fun roads are, in and out of the car.

Nope. Theres probably no more than 100 in a city of 1.2 million. I've seen all of 4 other FR-S' and/or BRZeds'. Maybe come summer but for now I'm one of the few.

I found the boo-hoo quite funny since u drive a suzuki. Agreed on the aftermarket, but I think that is changing. Doesnt mean it is giong to be better. Then u just become another person with a gazillion tatoos like the other million who have a gazillion tatoos. What is so unique about that .
It's all good
