It's unfortunate to hear this happened, really disappointing that people would do this. Thankfully it was only a scratch and it didn't turn out worse.

Not sure if its been mentioned but pepper spray will take anyone down, its seriously nasty stuff. A good quality brand will project about 10 feet in a fairly tight stream. Its better than bats, fists, etc. It obviously wont help against a gun, but guns are pretty rare and most people don't want a gun in their car.

Its not because you're Korean. Its generally because you're "asian."

I get picked on a lot when I'm in Carson/Compton for school. Since there's only 4% asians in that school... I've been called a ***** and so fourth.

Anywhere where there is a small percentage of Asians we're most likely get picked on. Shit.. look at all these PETA videos. They blame Asians for being horrible people. Not just Chinese, Korean or Vietnamese but as a whole.

lol 4% is alot, My highschool was .4 and that is including Indian people (all two of them) I dealt with racism as well, but mainly my early years and first two years of highschool. I attend the 1st or 2nd most diverse college in the nation so you don't really see any of it here. I think its surprising that Oregon is a racist place. I thought it was a really chill place with lots of nature stuff and hipsters, Also read some that Eugene Oregon had like 50% asian pop. I also think its strange that OP had to deal with racism, because i always assumed if you were white you were exempted from racism. Like some other members on here i also have zero tolerance for bullies. I pray that i never have to deal with something like this, because god knows what i am capable of.

.4%?!!? wtf? LOL

You win this one. haha. I would've thought since you're in Houston there's a good amount of Asians.

But I too have no tolerance for bullies. I was bullied throughout my elemtary/primary school years and it was when I was 9 years old was when I fought back. I got sick of being picked on and I ended up breaking a boy's nose and his Jaw and dislocated his friend's elbow. Not long after when I was in "tutoring" (it was more of an after school place that made you do your homework and learn a few new things to be ahead in class) I was bullied by 3 other girls. I wasn't even doing anything they all ganged up on me and said they didn't like me.

Yea I didn't take that too well. Lol. All 3 got their asses handed to them when we were learning new things.

But as of today I would say I'm not proud of doing those things... but it did made them stop. Also strange thing was... I became friends with those bullies afterward. I didn't bully anyone else but they knew if they did bully me... they'd have something in return. Lol

Now its all verbally mind fk them and make them feel like a worthless POS that was dumped in the dumpster by their mother and that is the result of who they are now.

haha well houston has something like 2-4% asian population or the greater houston area, but i live in an area about 30 minutes from Houston. So 99% of my friends are white or hispanic. Unfortunately i was too passive when i was younger to stand up for myself, so now i have an urge to scrap. It was hard when you didn't really have people to back you up. Even now alot of my friends don't/didn't realize that i face racism. Nowadays i try to spend my free time helping others who don't have the strength to help themselves, but bullying is something that primarily happens in schools so all you can really do is make people aware of it. And its not just against racism, but any form of bullying. http://www.facebook.com/stopbullyingspeakup?fref=ts

I didn't know OC had such a big asian population, but i remember hearing OC was a racist place when i was younger. Wasnt sure if it was true, just something that i may have saw on the internet or heard someone say. Sucks to hear that you have to deal with it in the military. You would think if people are relying on you to watch their back they would be nice to you and accept our differences.

OC has an ENORMOUS Asian Population. Lol Although there is a hugeeee segregation on race/ethnicity. From what I'm observing its.. Asians + White against Hispanics and some Blacks/African Americans (I don't know what to use because I've been yelle at for using both. Lol)

Don't take it as a way of me being racist its just how things look like here, but there are also cases where everyone gets along. Its more of a respect each other and understand each other's culture.

Unfortunately, some people here believe they are far superior than the other. I've also seen cases where I see older Asians bow and treat others with respect but the person receiving is simply fluffing up their ego and being incredibly disrespectful to that person.

Oh damn, the worst I had was some guy going 55 on 65 101 N and I merged behind him to get on the exit ramp that was less than a quarter mile away.
The passenger guy jumped out of his seat at the first red light and I just ditched him at green - he didn't approach me at the time.
The second red light they pulled up next to me and the guy jumped out and tapped on my windshield.
I lowered it and he said something along the lines of don't tailgate me ever again, ok?
I laughed and said sure and I drove off.

I saw him 2 weeks later working at a chinese cafeteria serving people.
