We don't all want the same thing but we can all get what we want if Toyobaru gives us the right blank canvas to work with: cheap, lightweight, RWD, well balanced, high revving coupe.

Well I no longer have problems rev-matching now that my hand is quick enough, and I don't have to think as much when it comes to heel-toe.
When I originally posted about the rev-match I thought it would be a cool idea for two reasons. Increased sales, less wear on syncro's while driving daily. Otherwise now I could care less, when i was driving with a cast, 4 pins in my hand it made more sense to me at that point. But i completely agree with the PURE feel of driving a car and doing it yourself. And 500hp is WAY to much unless your drifting...which it might still be too much lol. 300whp is almost too much? Hmmm |

if you double clutch, it's less wear on the synchros. otherwise the synchros do the same work whether you rev match or not.
it is, however, easier on the clutch.-Mike

I double clutch often. Rarely don't. I know what rev-matching, double clutch, heel toe all is and how to do it.
You guys just dont get it. I said why I thought it was a good idea. Not that I must have it. It's just a luxury. It's like auto vs. manual. Except you still have to push in the clutch and move the lever haha. Whew |

There's just one kind of driver I don't want to see in the FT. And that's the kind that'll make my insurance premium rise. Everyone else is welcome!

Like the SST transmissions or DSG. Like I said, I don't really care for it now, but it "would" be a cool a luxury. That is all |

it sucks but who bought the original ae86 when it was new? idk..before my time. they should make this car STRICTLY 6mt..
side note: things could be worse. i know of a 14 year old girl whose dad gave her a fully restored v8 '67 Camaro. he even swapped out the m/t for an automatic :0 |

Strictly 6mt?
I, personally, don't want this car to die on lots. Even if it's solely manual, the first couple years it'll sell just fine.. but after that, when all the normal people are looking for cars, they won't buy it. That means the car will be getting less profits, which means this car will be scrapped. There is NO WAY toyota won't offer an auto. They like money too much. Edit: (And I'll be happy if it has an auto in it. I won't buy it, but others will. If this car fails, Toyota will say "Hmm. Maybe there really isn't a market for a small, affordable, modifiable, RWD sports car." I don't want them to say that.) Last edited by Lexicon101; 01-20-2010 at 05:00 AM. Reason: enhancements. |
