I got a touch-up paint pen from the toyota dealership and it had two ends. The one end was the coloured paint and the other end was clear coat. My detailer did two or three applications of the coloured paint, allowing it to dry in between and then built up the clear over the level of the paint around it. I'll take it back to him in the spring and at that time he will compound it and level it out.

Can I apply more touch up paint to the repaired surface even after the paint is dry? I was told to only apply a thin layer, now after 24 hours I notice it is still sunken in a little. Can I just apply a little more touch up paint to the spot? Or do I need to remove the existing paint and start again?

Is it better to apply too much or too little paint?

So I had my car opticoated today. Detailer was able to smooth out the gouge, but now I've noticed I missed a spot and there is a thin white line showing now. Can I still apply some touchup paint on top, or is it too late since it is already opticoated?

Anybody know what our doorhandles are made of? Somebody has now dinged my door handle, haven't had time to touch up paint and it's raining a lot and wondering if I need to worry about rusting or not?
