I'm also working on a Red and a White one. so here is the easiest one to do first. Charcoal Gray. I'll soon post these on the Photoshop thread, so I'm sorry to be off topic.

From what I observed from the released photos of the BRZ, the wheel well seem to be maxed out by the wheel with the installed suspension. To put in 18x8 probably at max, there needs to be some negative camber and raised height adjustments on the rear.

18x8.5 or even 18x9 are out the questions I would assume.

All input are welcome, please. For a RWD car, not having beefy rear tires just doesn't hold up to what the standards of RWD sport cars are about.
The car will come (the BRZ/FR-S) with 215/45/17s. You don't need 275s to put down 200HP on the street.

For autocross you'll want as small and wide as possible, but it's not all that helpful on the street.

Also wide tires perform worse in the rain than narrower tires in terms of hydroplanning and add additional rolling resistance on a low torque/HP car.

I'll probably run 17x8s with one of the tires I posted up in another thread a long time ago :P

You're right, STI is not announced, but it's probably in work. Since TRD version in Japan leaked on the web, I don't see why Subaru don't go to STI route. I still don't know how they put turbo without messing up with the weight distribution. They can do it, but how much does it cost to do so? We don't know.

Edit: Now we see STI concept, I think we will see the production STI soon.

Oops.. I meant "currently destined". I'm sure it will be used in other cars, but I meant more like GM's Zeta platform that was intended to be used for a list of cars from the start, as opposed to this, where cars may or may not use this platform depending on needs and such. My bad on that

I hope there is an STI version, I just hope it's NA I'll consider trading the base version if I buy it in for the STI version then.. I mostly just hope I don't get disappointed after driving the car (in terms of feel, feedback, etc.)

I hope they don't screw us up by giving a better version shortly after released the base verion.
well, I will wait til the second year when most issues from initial launch are solved( if there is any).

That is exactly what I want. Maybe a little bit darker, but looks hot.

You would be correct. This is not a "later on in the cycle idea", it's a around the corner idea from the base release.

This is why people are in denial, it is very much in the works, the new gen mill was to be finished this summer. The engineering team didn't say anything internally if it was or not(should be it's been almost 5 years since the start). You are smart for waiting for mid-second year, though I hope you have $31xxx, or else don't wait.

Well you can always wait for something "better".. heck once that better version comes out we might be waiting for the 2nd generation car, or the R version, or the..... etc...

If I enjoy the first version I'll buy it once I get can it for around or under invoice. Once that's happens I'll be perfectly fine with it and, if I really feel the need, I'll switch later. On the other hand if I don't like the first version for whatever reason, I'll skip it and try again in a few years. Luckily I'm not in a hurry for another car

Don't you get it? He already owns the BRZ and the MCS JCW, so it's obvious he has first hand knowledge of everything Subaru plans on doing for the next 2 years.

Off-topic - Ryephile, I demand that you give me a ride in your Lotus when I go to Detroit next. NO EXCUSES.
