Hello
From Hong Kong here. Used to drive a Lexus IS300 when I was in Canada, now I don't have a car anymore after I totaled it. Waiting for the FRS to come out!!

Hi, I'm new to this forum, but have been following the Toyotabaru for a long time. I've been trying to figure out what should replace my current 00 Integra daily driver for a while. I have a long commute and a highly modified fun car already, so sometimes I think about going luxury for my daily. The problem is, I really enjoy my nimble little Integra. Even with only 140hp, 140k miles, door dings, creaks and rattles, etc... it's a very FUN car to drive. It couldn't be more different than my Z06 and I like that about it. Also, every luxury car I've driven bores me, even my friend's 6spd A5, it's just TOO smooth, makes you feel more like a passenger than a driver. Now, I have yet to drive an S4 or a CTS-V, but I find it hard to believe some of these sport-luxury cars will give me that fun-to-drive factor I'm looking for. The 135i is also a car that I think I need to test drive, looks like fun. But for now, the FR-S/BRZ is at the top of my list. Plus, is WAY cheaper than everything else I'm looking at. I'm not super concerned about the image, just want to enjoy my 2hrs/day I spend in the car as much as possible. I think I'll confuse the Scion salesman when I tell him some of the cars I'm cross-shopping!
![]() Here are some pics of my 03 Z06. It has a 427ci LS7 with custom dry sump oiling system, coilovers, big brakes, built driveline with 3.90 gears, dual disc clutch, Sparco seats and a bunch of other stuff. It made 555rwhp n/a and ran 10.8 at 134mph no Nitto road race/street tires. It's an absolute blast and I drive it every day it doesn't rain or snow, I put about 10k miles/year on it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And my Teggie:

New fan
Hey guys/gals,
I've been following the news for both of the cars for a while now here in these threads but thought I would finally join. I come from a 06 S2K and my wife currently has a 04 350z. I loved my S2K and find no other car (affordable that is) can compare to it. I don't have the car anymore as it was sold since we had to have at least one car that was more than a 2-seater. Anyhow, I have very high expectations of this car and I hope it doesn't disappoint. I've read reviews that these cars (FR-S/BRZ) are comparable to the Cayman in handling. I really hope that is true since I really only care about handling! I've never driven a Cayman but the other site I am a member of (s2ki.com) mentions how the most comparable car to the S2K handling is the Cayman (not sure if its better or not). I've been looking for something affordable and comparable since I sold the S ( ). I'm hoping to sell the wife's Z and pick this up (Dont' worry she agrees) Sorry, for the long post but the images and specs thus far seem great and I won't be able to fully make up my mind until I actually test drive one. :happy0180:

I have been hiding in the background here for quite a while now and finally decided to chime in. I will be purchasing either the fr-s or the brz as soon as it is released. I cant wait for that day to get here. I currently daily drive my tacoma and my wife drives a Honda Odessey. My play car is a 1994 Honda Civic HB with a turbocharged 1.6l Sohc motor that has been bored out to 1.75l. The current tune it makes 250whp and 250wtq on low boost of 9psi. It is a fun car to autocross and has ran a best time of 12.8@108 mph in the quarter mile and the best part about it is I still average 32 mpg on the hwy.

Hi all, I'm new here and is from Singapore. Cars in Singapore are so bloody expensive. $20k or even $30k for an FR-S sounds dirt cheap to me. YES ! Dirt cheap !
The FR-S would probably sell for US$105 000 here in Singapore. How's that? A Mazda RX8 currently cost S$188 988 (about US$130 000) here. Proof : http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/ne...?CarCode=10586 Still, I can't wait for FR-S to arrive here. Have a good day everyone ! |

Hi guys and gals,
My name is Jay, I am probably a little older then most of the forums members at 38 but like you all I am very interested in this car. I daily drive a mid size ford appliance so I am considerering the FRS/BRZ for a fun fair weather toy to break up the boredom. Look forward to sharing ideas and wishes with you all. |

Hey guys,
Been lurking and keeping my eye on the FR-S and BR-Z for a while. I see them as a modern day Datsun 240Z: cheap, light and fun. I had a 2002 Impreza WRX for a few years (loved it), and now have an '07 Tacoma for more utilitarian purposes (like it). Looking forward to seeing these cars stateside and what they'll be capable of. Definitely looking for a fun car again, be it this, the 2013 STi (if it's a homologation style 2-door hatch), Audi S4 or the future Porsche Cajun. |

Hi all,
long time lurker - first time poster. Like many of the members here I was in the market for a new car and ended up holding off to see how this whole "the revival of the AE86" played out. I was looking at the 2011 wrx before this explosion of information occurred and I'm glad I held off. Even compact cars now a days are far to bloated and the '11 wrx was no exception. I much prefer the 2005 sti - but that's a whole different argument for another day/thread. I'm still not sure if I'll end up buying an wrx or the FR-S, but I'm a guy that likes to weigh his options till the bitter end before making any decisions. I'll do my best to post my opinions on matters and topics - but I'm more of a reader then a writer. Until the day I speak up again - rock on from Ontario |
