probably because if the car was in neutral is has more give than a car in 1st gear which holds its position, a tap hard enough may damage a car in gear no?

That makes sense. I park in gear on grades in case the parking brake fails.

i always park in 1st as thats how I know the car won't go anywhere regardless but yah. Gonna go see if there is damage in a few.

I learn the hard way on my last car, the parking break failed and it slid and hit some random Kia. So it's best to leave it in gear, although I'm not sure would it make it easier for the car to slid forward? I know if you put in first gear it probably won't slide back wards

Looks like a very small amount of paint is missing
probably less than a millimeter or 2 also a lot off scuff marks looks like the car has been driven for like 20k miles instead of the 2k miles are on there, probably the detailing will take it out. I guess i don't really need to mess with insurance.
