For those who want to know. I'm running 225/40-18 on the front and 265/35-18 on the rear. 265 is because I'm running a turbo. I chose Dunlop Direzza DZ101 tires for the balance in cost and traction and wear. I used them on my Lotus for daily driving use - lasted almost a year with spirited driving

you'll be fine. I actually wanted 245 on the front, but couldn't find it in the size I wanted...

Hows the 265 in the rear with the +40 offset in terms of room. I plan on doing 275 or maybe even 285, think ill be alright? i'll be running a 18x9.5 +40 rear aswell.

You'll be fine with 275. I have plenty of room, flush look - no rubbing. 265 looks very flush when looking from wheel to tire. I don't like it consuming the rim and I don't like the rim poking far out, I like FLUSH! See photos...
