This car was meant for DD/weekend car as stated countless times before. So obviously its not a 100% enthusiast car IMO. Its more than likely they wont even sell that exact bare car in the U.S. Its like iggyhop said, we enthusiasts make a small percentage of consumers so realistically what you are proposing wouldnt matter to 99% of buyers.
But according to your logic, "we dont know much about cars."

Might as well give me a card board box with wheels on it. MX-5/s2k with a roof and a useless back seat is what i want and this is it. Im not going to drop money on something i wont be happy with out of the box but rather improve on what is already there.
