It will be soon enough I am sure. The real question is who has the money sitting in their account ready to be released

Are you kidding me!

Okay you can keep your 200hp at 6000 rpm.... do you know how disappointing a massive torque dive feels in a car?? This car only makes HP because it can rev out nicely.

Try driving a 1.8t jetta for mazda speed3. Huge torque but at 5000 rpm they are all out of idea's.

You peak tq out at say 3000 rpm and its all downhill from there and it is just a miserable feeling reving it out.

It also then becomes usable power over a larger range. Here's to hoping for a nice linear HP and table top TQ carried throughout the entire rpm range.
+1 Linear torque by definition will never have more torque than hp as long as you rev past 5252 rpm.

Linear is fine, there is nothing wrong with that.... what i dont want to see is a huge bump of torque between 2000 to 4000 and then a downward torque cliff from 4000 to 7500.

BTW i dont think that this will happen with this PD supercharger. i think it is going to simply raise the torque and Hp curves +60 maybe running out of breath a little bit between 7000 to 8000.

I agree I would find it pretty strange if we saw a drastic slump in TQ on the top end. A slight fall would be expected but with a linear increase in HP I am completely content with that. PD SCers are pretty predictable in regard to their dyno graphs however, this engine does seem to have some interesting flow characteristics so only time will tell I suppose

The VE of this motor drops off significantly after 6500. It's going to be very hard to NOT get torque drop off past that. I think it's a restriction of the stock cams,

Has anyone been able to definitively identify what the bottle neck is?

My theory is the breathing of the head (cam profiles). I mean, the car makes decent TQ very low for a 2.0. Usually, without multiple profiles (VTEC, VVTLI, etc), that would indicate the inability to make decent power up really high. The variable valve timing helps carry that torque pretty high (6500), but it can only do so much before you reach the realistic limit of the cam profile.

hoping the addition of about 6psi of boost makes that drop off less noticeable. I mean the vortec doesnt really drop off but it is making peak psi at redline so thats to be expected.

@Visconti must be grinning just sitting there and watching all of you argue while the answer to all your questions are 6" away from him on his laptop, lol.

I for one am excited to see the end result. Hopefully Visconti releases them today. His last comment everyone seemed to skip right over which made me worry a bit since I don't know how to take it.

"Really don't know how it stacks up to the vortech .."

That makes me believe it makes more power down low and less power up high comparatively. i think we are talking only about 20 peak whp difference but a good chunk of torque more between 2000 and 5000 for the innovative.

It still drops considerably even with boost, just not as drastically as NA.
