My emblem has the posts that stick off the back for mounting. Did you grind these off to mount to the vinyl?

I re-did my emblem. FYI dont sand the chrome off the donor emblem. Hit the donor emblem with 3 light coats of automotive paint black and one coat of automotive clear.
