Ideal armrest hinge
One idea thats been in my head is an armrest that will let me have fast access to one cupholder or that area. So it has to open and close for full access or slide for 1/3 access (but still can open and close).
I have an idea of how the hinge will work but still trying to figure how to make it seen-less when installing the hinge to armrest. Just throwing this out there, What you thing? Here you can see how slides and will open 1/3 where the 1rs cupholder could be: [ame]http://youtu.be/vz9KOR2yHqo[/ame] The armrest will be keep in place by its own weight: [ame]http://youtu.be/CJph0sIJ8HU[/ame]

love the sliding back feature. I personally always keep a bottle of water in the car at all times, and all those other arm rests would have to be opened like a barrier but this sliding feature would still allow me to keep a bottle while have some armrest area.

My cup holders are in a garage cabinet. I keep my bottle water in the door pocket. My armrest is full size so it also acts as a lid for the open compartment in the console.

I keep a glass bottle. I don't use plastic bottles because of the summer heat in the car. If i keep the glass bottle on the door everytime i open/close the door or make a turn the glass bottle will hit the door.

Is not only about the cupholder. What if for whatever reason u want to keep the area open for eyewear. Access to the power outlet.
