I just installed the system today in my FRS. Its pretty easy to do yourself, but if you want to do it right (and clean) it will take a while-i spent arount 4 or 5 hours. Also, a word of advice: buy more zipties; the kit comes with some, but to really clean it up, youll need more.
As for the sound, it really depends on your preference. Im a bit of a bass head, so this system doesnt impress me too much, but i still think it was worth the 1500 spent, simply bc it takes up minimal space and the carbon fiber finish is so clean. I can imagine its a huge improvement over the stock hu, but i highly suggest an aftermarket hu so you can adjust the eq settings if you need more bass. Even though my system was specifically tuned for my pioneer avic z140, it sounds better (for my tastes) after a little eq adjusting. Bass is punchy and produces some good clean lows. There will be some rattle though: in the cabin, there some in the door speaker and especially the 3rd brake light. Outside, theres some rattle in the rear quarter panels and license plate of course. I plan to fix all of these spots with a little dynamat and some foam. Overall, its a good system. Bass heads beware - this may not be for you. The tweeters and improvement in the door speakers are the major benefits here. |

Sorry - I didn't notice this thread was still going! I just took a day trip in my car and got to listen to it all day. This system is simply amazing. I tweaked EQ settings a bit, but it's basically flat with a little added bass. The highs are sharp and crisp, the mids have presence, and the bass is a thick layer underneath. It's the first time I've really felt like I can distinctly hear all the different layers of the audio: lows, mids, and highs. They are each their own separate, distinct entity with this. Granted I haven't owned much audiophile equipment in my young life, I'm very satisfied with the sound reproduction from this kit. As far as some of your questions for headunits and such, they would better be answered by Daniel La Blanc, the sales manager for OAP: dlablanc@oemaudioplus.com
Just a bit more information on the kit... they are planning on releasing a "reference series" upgrade that will replace all of the speakers with carbon coned drivers. Going off of their website and prices for their other products, I am assuming that it will be around $1,500. This would include the above system plus new dash, door, and rear carbon cone speakers. This is still in development. I asked about upgrading down the line, and here was his reply: "As for the Reference Series upgrade. Details are still pending on this, however if an Amp swap is necessary, shipping labels and exchange details will all be included in the upgrade." This was in reply to whether the amp would have to be shipped back to get the DSP retuned. So... if/when they release this, they will offer just the upgraded speakers to the owners of the previous kit for the price difference between the two kits. The amp may or may not need to have its DSP retuned. |

Do it, it's the best investment from the available list of options for the FR-S at the dealer, I think, if you are a music lover.

I just got confirmation from Daniel with OEM Audio Plus that the BRZ system will work with Pioneer AVH units. I'm looking at the AVH-P8400BH.
Thanks for the review! Last edited by chanomatik; 02-15-2013 at 07:34 PM. |

Kinda on off topic, for anyone with the Bespoke headunit and the audio plus system, what settings are you using? Just curious.
