Borg Warner 8374 vs Garret GTX35R

Hey guys,

I wanted to get some opinions on both of these snails. Obviously both are offered in different trims but they are in roughly the same class. Anyone here ever try either on the FA20 or on other engines?

Borg Warner 8374

Turbine OD 74mm
Compressor OD 83mm

Turbine Housing A/R .83 .92 1.05

Oil and water cooled

T3 and T4 Twin Scroll available

Internal Wastegate AND Blow Off Valve

Garret GTX35R

Turbine OD 68mm
Compressor OD 82.5mm

Turbine Housing A/R .63 .82 1.04

Oil and water cooled

T3 and V Band available

If by internally wastegated you mean like a vnt, or vanes that vary their angle in the exhaust side I would go with the Borg warner

From tests I've read the bw aren't as magical as people were hoping. Not to mention price for the turbos.

No he means exactly that: the turbo has a wastegate built into the turbine housing.

You're talking about a variable geometry turbo, which neither of these are.
