So i got my 2nd pump yesterday. This is after Subaru told my dealer to wait almost 2 months after i reported the repeat failure after the 1st replacement took a crap after 500 miles. Subie claims repeat failure is rare which this forum has debunked.

I ordered my new pump in October??? I forget... Still haven't received it... So I am still on the original HPFP, but it appears that after 8k miles... The chirping has stopped for me... Now this could be that it is because of the winter blend that gas stations offer... I go to cheap fuel places too just to debunk the Exxon or Shell Station claims... I get my gas at 7/11 93 octane. I do not use any additives. I wouldn't be surprised though if it comes back when it starts getting warmer and gas stations switch to the summer blend. -.-

They replaced the pump with the same pump, so no real shocker that it came back. I would suggest not having it replaced again, as it's pretty clear at this point it's a waste of both your and the dealers time, plus the risks of having a botched install.

Probably a combination of all of the above. The chirping only really exhibits itself in high-heat situations with certain fuel types. Since it's cold out and you're using different fuel in the motor, you're changing the two known factors for the chirp to exhibit itself. Also, as mentioned above, the replacement pump is (currently) the same part and there's very little chance it will reduce the chirping.

Subin' for permanent a fix for this. I just bought my car last Saturday with 6 miles. She's chirped from day 1 with 6 miles. At 350+ now and still there. Not any louder, but still there.

This. Mine comes and goes....even after its warmed up. I'm gonna trust that its not causing harm and if it does, that's why I have a 100k mile warrantee.

Doesn't really bug me, but if they come up with a fix, my car will be in to get this taken care of

Just picked up my BRZ today! Right of the bat, the engine is already quite loud from the outside (clicking noises), is this the injectors and is this normal? My RSX never made noises like this, even at 10 years old. Can't hear it from the inside of the car though.

Yes, that's the direct injection ticking and is even more normal than the chirps. Which are normal.

My car was chirping loudly to where it was almost embarrassing (sounded like a squeaky belt outside the car) and I have been using shell vpower 93 octane 10% ethanol. Recently(2600-2700 miles) it seems to be more intermittent but it has also gotten colder outside

Mine just started yesterday at 650 miles. I am taking it into the dealership on Saturday so the issue is documented and Toyota is aware.

It would have never occurred to me that my car chirps. But I read about it, and I saw the video. Lucky me, my car doesn't chirp. Except in a parking garage with my windows down and concrete under me, above me and in front of me. No kidding, my car actually makes noise. I thought I bought a silent car. So I open the hood and amid the cacophony of whirring, buzzing, hissing and clicking is a chirping sound. But only if I move my head around to the right spot so the sound doesn't cancel itself out before it reaches my ears.

So what. I would be embarrased to bring this to my dealer and more embarrassed for them if they proceeded with multiple fuel pump replacements. I'm so over this.
