Look at FBM or P&L for god-like WHP numbers where the torque comes in and never drops from 4.5k - 8.5k rpms. Mmmmmmm |

For those wanting higher peak HP from this kit - you can always just change the 18G compressor to a 20G, which will be more efficient at high flow rates. AVO have clearly gone with the 18G for driveability.

dumb question. I am not looking for dyno queen peak number. But is there another turbo out there that would spool quicker than the one that is being used currently in this kit. My car is just a street car I want torque and I want it on tap like avo has it now I dont wan to wait til 4.5 rpm.
I like what AVO has now with the useable power. But I am not so concenered with peak HP. If you went with a small or different type of turbo could you get even more of that torque to come on quicker. I d be willing for fork out the extra cash for top of line turbo charger even if its smaller if it packs the punch off the line through out the power band not just top end.

![]() ![]() That's at 5psi, and yes, it can go to much higher boost levels. Any turbocharger you use will have a general range of operation, which will depend on the sizing of the turbo, size of the engine, exhaust flow, etc. A lot of variables, but the one constant being that it won't be efficient throughout the entire rpm range. The setup we picked here *is* about as small as we would want to go on this motor. Looking at the chart, it really starts picking up from 2500rpm, reaches efficiency at 2800rpm, and holds that to 7000rpm where it starts dropping off. Now if we used a larger turbo, all we would be doing is moving that range 500-1400 rpm further down the rpm range. And if we used an even smaller turbo, it would start running out of breath at 6000-6500rpm. A good example is the twinscroll turbocharged 2.0-liter Legacy in Japan. I drove that for three years. It would come in around 2000-2500rpm, a bit sooner, but it absolutely started running out of breath at 6000rpm. At 6500 it was like hitting a wall. |

So, question.. I've been following the AVO kit since it was announced. This stage 2 business really has me convinced this kit is the one. However, I too aim to be in the 300whp club, and look forward to seeing what that would entail. (*Cough* hurry up with that
)Questions, however, would be: What modifications would have to be made if I wanted to redline closer to 8600, meaning bigger turbo, etc, and since I love mean noises, how hard would it be to switch to an external wastegate? Just thoughts from the Batcave..

Adding an EWG would require a modification to the header which will be pricey and likely unneeded. An EWG helps with regulating boost creep and AVO has designed their turbos to hold the given boost the turbo is rated for very well. |

I am very impressed with the results of the AVO kit and the stealthness of it.
I understand it may be a price increase and this may be a dumb question as the turbo that comes with the kit is doing its job completely. Is there any other turbo out there or anything that we could request from AVo as far as turbo is concerned for maybe something that may be a little more costly but would spool up quicker and bring on the torque sooner. Basically question is , is there another turbo out there as I am not familiar with turbos or turbo companys for that matter that would pack more punch off the line and deliver more power and spool faster to put me back in my seat quicker. I not looking for a dyno queen but if there is another turbo out there that packs more punch down low what would it be ? I have seen different companies offer different types and again have no clue as I used to be a mustang vortech guy. Can anyone offer any information on if they think maybe a smaller turbo that spooled quicker and delivered quicker is out there?
