It'd be really nice if we could compile a list of all members by location (OP isn't active anymore so can't really use the 1st post sadly...) it would make it a lot easier to arrange meets and PM everyone to let them know.

Calgary New Car Protection Package - who do you recommend?

Hi everyone,

Am new to this forum world. Just placed my order for a WRB BRZ Sport-tech ... should be arriving in 3 weeks from this Saturday. Woohoo!!

Dealer - Subaru Calgary.

Am looking for a good place that offers a new car protection package besides doing it at the dealer. I'm just thinking that a place that specializes in this will do a better job. Maybe I'm just being too anal and really its not too different...?

My bad if there's a thread started already (searched and couldn't find one):

Here's what I found in town - anyone have recommendations/reviews?
http://theautoprotectors.com/protection-packages.html - only one with a new car package at $899; anyone bought this package before?
http://www.calgarycardetailing.ca/index-1.html
http://www.shinefactory.com
http://www.southpointedetail.com/calgary-detailing.html
http://www.calgaryautospa.com

Any comments appreciated. Thanks!

Good call, I wouldn't trust Subaru Calgary to check my oil. They also overcharge, add on bogus environmental fees to every type of service (even wheel alignments) and employ technicians who don't give a shit or don't know what they are doing.

Unfortunately I do all of my own detailing, but I'm sure any of the places you listed will likely do a better job than the stealership.

Stateless, where do you get service done? If not Subaru Calgary then it's Centaur right...unless, wait Red Deer????

Hahaha no, I haven't used Centaur but I've heard enough horror stories to match my Subaru Calgary ones that'd I'd only use them as a last resort.

I go to Allmakes http://www.allmakesautorepairs.com/ where they have a couple certified Subaru technicians and specialize in Subaru. I used them for many years while I had my WRX and they do great work and charge very reasonable prices.

For wheel alignments, I use A-1 Autobody (mechanical division) http://www.a1autobody.ca/ A lot of WRX owners use them and they do a very good job. If I didn't use Allmakes, I'd probably get regular service done there too.

Don't understand delays. Went shopping yesterday. They had 3 in stock. Dealing on white sport tech BRZ but we're $500.00 apart. Asking $33,182.25 all in. Is that too high?

I personally wouldn't let 500 get in the way of the car I wanted. That being said if you're paying less than MSRP (minus any BS dealer "fees") then I'd say you're doing ok.

I paid $31,300 + $450 3M for the front bumper + $395 doc fee, and that's it. I leased, so tax gets added through the lease rather than up front. This was through Scott Subaru in Red Deer though, and they don't add bullshit fees like undercoating, laser-etching or nitrogen. If that's for a lease with no 3M, that's almost a $1500 markup.

I just checked and Red Deer actually lowered their price to $31,100, if you don't mind a bit of a drive to save $1700 (they only have WRB however) http://www.scottsubaru.com/new-inven...ventoryListing

Hey gang, I'm the founder of 403 Scions and as one of the members has mentioned previously, I have monthly meets to hang out, chat and see what everyone's got going on under their hoods. We have quite a few FR-S drivers already, so if you're down for it, come on by and say Hi!
