I wish it were. The best price puts it at a 20 cents above regular, but I have seen up to a 50 cent difference, with the average of around 35 cents.

It's significant if you're talking about it over the course of owning the car. 25mpg is probably about average, with 12,000 miles per year, you're talking about 480 gallons of gas. That translates to $240 per year extra in gas at 50 cents extra for premium, which is the norm near me. Over, say, 4 years, it's about 1k.
Not a big deal for most people, but there's probably at least a few FR-S owners who can't just eat that without cutting something else back. |

But regular in a M3 or M6 or S550 or Cayman.... lets see how that works for ya... lol
Why have a e85 fuel map for your TC'd engine either, just put regular ol 87.... it will work just fine!

I posted some examples where the inverse is true. If a regular engine doesn't change timing or fueling it will run exactly the same on premium. If it does change timing or fueling, it will run better.

Quit bitching about using premium... If you want to bitch about $2-$3, then you should have bought a Tc or something cheaper that uses cheaper gas... Shut the fuck up and pay up. Damn. Kids man...

It's really made under the assumption that there's 2 cars here - one that gets 25mpg on regular, and another that gets 25mpg on premium, where the $240/year is the sole financial difference between them.

well, if you want to buy a car and park it and just put parts on it, then go ahead. Don't complain about the gas you NEED to make it run... Its not an assumption, apparently its the matter of fact. Hell, maybe when my spark plug goes out ill just leave em and not replace them and that will save me a few dollars... or maybe just not buy new tires when they are showing wires... thats a whole lot of extra cash i can save

[QUOTE=Allch Chcar;736509]Dude, Ethanol is high octane...and you don't have to worry about Ethanol with this car. Now if you find a station selling bad gas, that's a different story.
Hmmm I just had the impression that ethanol is hard on small engines because it can turn into a powder-like substance? |
