DGM BRZ detail with 22PLE

Brian does other types of coatings as well but I wanted to try something other than OG, so I opted for the 22PLE treatment.

Looks great, but keep us updated in a few month.

Reason I say that is because MOST detailing jobs only fill in the scratches.

application of coatings such as Opti-Coat or 22PLE require paint correction before hand to get the paint looking perfect. There are no fillers to mask whats going on.

Fillers are oil based, and either done on purpose or part of the polishing media used and the detailer didn't remove in the cleaning process. In order for most of the top tier coatings to bond properly they needs a hyper clean surface. Fillers would prevent that bonding and the coating would fall off in a few weeks.

There is also chance the "swirls returned" is that washing and drying techniques are flawed and induce these again to the surface. These coatings are more scratch resistant than the paint its self BUT are not diamond hard to prevent all scratching.

Cheers,
GREG

Prior to the 22PLE application, the entire car had an IPA wipe down after the polishing.

Looking good man.

Out of curiousity, what is the difference between 22PLE and Opticoat/gaurd? Is 22PLE also permantent coating similar to Opticoat/gaurd? Thought it was. So what are pros/cons of each?

22ple will not last years like OG/OC will. 22ple is a coating just like the others. The question now being tested is does it stand up to the chemical washings, water spotting, and bird bombs like OC does.

Its a bit easier to apply 22ple IME

It might have a slight edge in looks over OC IME/IMO

Cheers,
GREG
