I'm thinking about taking a run out there this weekend. Just a fairly easy run to have fun and check out scenery. If anyone is interested we could meet up a little later maybe 10 and head that way and grab lunch in Leakey before hitting 335 and 336.

@TravBRZ I was talking to a motorcycle friend the other day and he says they often drive on 470 just outside of Bandera so they can stop at Mac & Ernies in Tarpley TX. I remember watching the Diners and Dives episode on this place awhile back. It's a hole in the wall but, the food is suppose to be real good. You might want to give this place a try for lunch as they open at 11 am on Sat. Lunch menu is limited. The Fri. & Sat. evening dinner menu looks very interesting!

Good call...I have eaten there before. I had the cabrito burger and it was pretty tasty. It was 2-3 years ago and all they had was the shed. Looks like they have expanded quite a bit.

John, I go to Mac & Ernie's on a somewhat regular basis and the food there is great. Yes the lunch menu is fairly limited but the goat and elk burgers are fantastic. For dinner, the ribeye and quail are always good and they regularly have specials that they don't list on the website.

I would be down for the 23 of feb for sure. Cant miss out on a twisted sisters run. Also I am doing CCM on 16th so sadly will be a no go.

Ugh! Too many activities, not enough time. Well, CCM does start at 2 PM on the 16th!!! There would be time to do the run into Leakey then do half the run up 336 turn around go back thru the twisties on 336 from the other direction. Then, head out of Leakey and go to Mac & Ernies in Tarpley TX to have lunch before heading back to S.A in time for CCM.

Oh well, just a thought...I know you want to have your rides in pristine condition and all....sorry, we didn't catch that CCM date earlier on.

Google it for a map, but its 336,337 and one other. Its a popular motorcycle route. If you do it alone take it slow and watch for bikers (thats the non-motor kind).
