If they are willing to rip you this bad on price, imagine what they will dot o you with service/warranty work. I would cancel that order immediately and look to another dealer. Shoot the dealer I bought mine from has 5 sitting on the lot as we speak (1 white, 3 black, 1 asphault)

I would cancel if possible. There are plenty of dealers in Cali who will sell you an frs at msrp. If you have good credit, go with Penfed credit union's car buying service, their current rate is .99% for 60 months.

Take your time, email a bunch of dealers in your area.

Um yeah I would cancel it in a heartbeat. The fact that they are making you gather other contracts is absolutely ridiculous. Tell *them* to find contracts that match the price THEY are selling it for!! I know you want the car bad, but think of how much of a pain they will be once you buy the car from them, especially if you prove them wrong!

Wait a minute.... A $3k markup in an FR-S?! What about the Scion Pure pricing? I'd call Scion of America and ask them. Sounds like you got ripped off. I'd try to get out of that contract today...

I'd send you a copy of my order form but I'm all the way over in PA, so they may not find it relevant...

Scion pure pricing only means the dealer has to list their prices on their website. One of the frs owners here is/was a finance manager for scion and explained it to us. He showed how on their sites they have the prices listed with complete breakdown. There are a few other threads on it.

I highly doubt that. They have a big fish on the hook and they are not going to let him/her slip off easily.

Cancel if you can, and go straight to Gosch Toyota/Scion in Hemet in the Inland area. No markups, no bs. Dale Furgeson is the salesman's name, great guy. Tell them that the markup ship sailed last December, and it shows greedy, poor form on his/her part. This type of dealer makes the Scion dealerships that truly stick to pure pricing by word and spirit so much easier to deal with. Not to mention it gives them another example of how some Scion dealers can rise to the top in a 'standaridized' dealership model.

I still think a call to the dealer first, to explain you will be talking to Scion of America, is in order. Next, actually call Scion and complain loudly.

That being said, that dealer sounds shady and I'd run while you can.

Get out if it is not too late or deal with it.

You agreed to the pricing so why is it their fault? They have the right to charge what every they want for the car, you have the right to pay or not pay it.

Unless they slipped in the extra fees at the last minute or without your knowledge you really have no footing to complain on.

I agree there's a certain amount of "Buyer Beware" at work here, but one could make the argument that Scion has attempted to build a reputation on an easy, no-haggle buying experience and this dealership has broken that trust. That's how I'd state it to Scion America anyway.
