I'm pretty sure we all know that. I was just making a comment that not everyone who GOT the premium feels the same as the poster of what I responded too. Plus premium weighs less that limited and that equals probably about 3-5 mins faster around the nurburgring. At least. |

Honestly, the automatic HVAC was the biggest reason I could not justify saving the money and getting the Premium. The rest of the stuff I could live without but the aesthetic difference between the Premium climate control knobs and the Limited is staggering, and I LOVE automatic climate control. I had it in my Audi and I have it in my Mercedes. I never have to touch it except to turn the defrosters on. I set it to 72 degrees Fahrenheit the day I got in it, and I haven't touched it once in 6 months. Dual zone seems unnecessary in such a small car but whatever.

My choice to go with a Premium BRZ over a Scion had something to do with the badging, but it wasn't the primary reason. Combined with wanting the NAV and HIDs, not liking the Scion red interiors accents, and not being able to actually find a Limited BRZ in dark gray, I went with a Premium. Also, and I may be in the minority here, but I don't like "suede-like" (or real suede for that matter) material and I prefer starting my cars with a key. call me old-fashioned.
Yeah, I agree, the added options will probably help resale value, and that what you're getting for the price is well worth it, but I'd rather put the $2K towards something else.

I love my premium BRZ but really wanted the seats (material ) that come with the limited, that's it. Maybe I'll just get them covered aftermarket...then again I might just be patient and see what the STI brings to the table and then trade up. Until then I am enjoying my car.

Cool, $900 is a pretty big purchase for seat covers for my taste but it's good to know my options are out there if I wanted to make my Premium look like a Limited some day.

Bingo! I wanted a low cost toy, and was going to get the FRS, until I drove a Premium BRZ and found out you can get them in some nearby markets at invoice. I'd gladly pay a few hundred more bucks to drive a Subaru over the Scion brand, (let alone the nav and HID's). Don't get me wrong, if there was just the FR-S, I'd get it because the driving is what really matters, but when there's a more "mature" brand name, I'll go that route...

After spending time in both a Premium and a Limited at the Toronto auto show yesterday, the Limited seems worth the premium (see what I did there?). Seats are much nicer and the HVAC on the Premium belongs on a $12k car, it looks worse than the HVAC on my 1st gen Tiburon. Admittedly the toggle switches on the Limited are hardly Mini quality, just cheap plastic with a really cheesy feel, but they look OK.
The Limited seems a decent value for $2k - gets you a spoiler, heated and more attractive seats, the better HVAC, door courtesy lights, vanity mirror lights, fogs, proximity key and start button, silver accent trim. Seat upgrades alone can cost $1000-1500 elsewhere. |

I do agree the base HVAC controls look cheap. But really, I adjust the controls maybe once or twice a day and I don't find myself staring at it other times.
