White BRZ and Asphalt FR-S spotted on Lamar Blvd as I was going north a little after 4:00 pm CST. Then later that night, a dark blue (ultramarine) looking BRZ in the Randall's parking lot off AW Grimes and Gattis School Rd. Anyone here?

Hey guys, I mainly post on the San Antonio forum but I am actually up at Hood.

I have two sets of springs for sale

First set is the Ground control adjustable springs with blue chamber plates I paid $770, you can have them for $700 Never installed only opened the box to take pictures.

Next set is the Racecomp engineering yellows with subaru OEM crash/camber bolts for the front. $250

I am trying to sell them locally before i put them up on the main forsale site.

Ill be installing the whiteline transmission bushing and peering shift boot retainer this weekend. I'll report back with my findings on whether the extra $100 investment in tools was worth it.

What extra tools did you need? I did this look on my build for some issues I had. Hopefully your install will go smoother.

Umm I just had to get a couple more jack stands and a torque wrench that clicks instead of having to look at it. (Since I'll be under the car I don't know if I'll be able to see the gauge while I'm torquing) I also got a small bottle jack to hold the transmission up, but I'm gonna try to use wood blocks instead so maybe I'll be able to take that back.

Anyway I'm planning on eventually getting an exhaust and some suspension mods so its tools I'll eventually need. Not a complete waste.

Ahh just read your build; what did you use to clean those bolts?

Well, I got it jacked up but wasn't comfortable enough in my abilities about dropping the transmission so I just tried to install the Perrin Shift Boot...That also didn't go very well

I tried and tried but could not get that goddamn thing to go on. I think I'm going to wait until I have help or a full car lift, you just cant get enough leverage lying on your back.

Boosted, if you have the time I'd really appreciate if you could help me with this stuff. I'll buy you a case of beer or something. I'm in way over my head.

For the Perrin shifter bushing, you have to install it up side down. One in then rotate it. This can be a issue, will also need to undo the center drive shaft brace to allow enough play. Be carefull not to pull to hard or the input shaft will come out the trans. The trans brace is easy I used a dye to clean them since the threads have damage. You may not have to do this. The trans brace is easy and doesnt take that much effort. Look up the write ups on it. Also a lift is worth its weight in gold, gotta love having cheap access to one in the military. I am up at Ft hood, but if you still cant figure it out let me know.

Ah, that explains it Lifts are expensive as hell so having access to that military stuff is a sweet deal.

The issue I had with the transmission brace is that I didn't really have a lot of room to maneuver under the car and if something went wrong I was going to be in a real bad situation. Better safe than sorry.

I'll ask around the car club next autocross and see if I can bum some lift time off one of the members. I'll have a little more money next month anyway so it works out. Worse case scenario I pay the sponsor shop however much to install the damn thing for me.
