And WHAT? You get an instructor with you around the track? Wowza... That's awesome. How much is that again? Get the most out of your car that way IMO.
Auto cross is not a track driving sport it is a skid pad threw Cones and yes all instruction is free and highly recommended a track day threw nasa also has free instruction but costs around $200 depending on the track and the length of the event.

Got it. Thanks for clearing up the confusion. Still something to think about. Good to know.

I am now out of transportation as my car is getting clear bra and my bike is getting a new back tire. I have never been so nervous about taking my car somewhere. It's not even the people that are doing it, it's more caring for the car more. Didn't get that from the Si.

I did check the registration rates, though, and want to confirm that you can race for less than $50

Looking forward to meeting you guys soon.
Find me and I will hook you up in Time Only runs (from about noon time on) with some ride alongs.

If you register on site for both comp runs and TO runs, and you are not a SCCA member, it will cost $50. If you register online, you save five bucks and make registration easier for you and me (I am the club registrar). On site registration for members to do comp and to runs, it costs 45 smackers. Pre reg for members, for comp and to runs, costs 35 buckaroonies.

Autox is intense. It is 30 to 70 very focused seconds of exhilaration, sometimes punctuated by near terror when done properly. A good run means your hands shake and your heart is pounding after exiting the car. A fast run means you have driven the car at the limits of adhesion while dodging cones by inches.

Jasper rode with my buddy Wiggy, and as I like to do when someone new rides with someone fast, I asked, "What did you learn?", and Jasper said, "he has big balls." It was funny, but it wasn't big balls as much as Wiggy having autoxed for over ten years, going to driving schools, and having lots of seat time.

Autox is freakin' tough - I heard one of drifters say it was the most stressful thing he had ever done in a car. There are so many opportunities to make mistakes that slow you down. I believe the AMP course had 37 steering inputs, and my runs were in the mid sixties, which means over just over two opportunities a second to make a mistake.

Autox is fun cuz driving a car real fast is real fun.

When you get your car back I suggest auto cross first track days have a tendency to make me more cautious on an auto cross track because of the risk of spinning out. On a track a spin out could cost you the car in autocross it will cost you a car wash. And it's a lot cheaper and more exciting in my opinion. Track days have strict rules and they make sure to tell you that you are not racing all passes are only done on the main straight and signaled by a hand wave or flashing the head lights.

That would be awesome. I'll take you up on that. For whom should I ask, the Evil86 registrar?

Kevin O. The is also a Kevin C., Kevin V., and Kevin G. who come to the events so it is best to ask for Kevin O.

Or just ask any of the Toybaru owners, most of them know me.

So I have a question. I am picking up my car today from the detail/clearbra place. Since they did a 4 stage detail on it, (to remove some of the light scratches and what not) and the clearbra service, is this something I tip for as well? I just don't want to be that d-bag who doesn't tip but at the same time its a lot of money any way.

Also I was quoted $799 shipped for the Injen SRI and also the Invidia N1 T1 Catback exhaust which I can't find cheaper anywhere else. BUT I really wanted to support my local shop (aka Vivid Racing) but I have yet to hear back from them and from what they have on their website its WAY more than what I was quoted. So can any of you (Supermassive) who support and rep Vivid hook a brother up?

I tip on any work that I feel took talent and want to show my appreciation. You can at least offer it to the installer.

Call Vivid and ask to be speak with Dan. Let him know you've been waiting to here back and I am sure he will take care of you.
