I Iove rear wheel drive, especially in the snow. It’s actually safer and easier to drive once you understand how things work and get a bit of practice. You can steer both ends of the car. It’s fun!

Have you ever driven rwd in the snow?

Yep, there’s widespread misunderstanding about that. A lot of people think it’s not a problem to run regular, that the cpu will simply dial back the ignition advance (retard the timing) to eliminate engine knock the way most modern cars do. They don’t understand that this does not work with a 12.5 to 1 compression ratio. The spontaneous combustion that can result from low octane fuel in the BRZ/FR-S can do serious damage to an engine, often melting piston tops.

So … did you have a talk with him about the fuel? And did he/will he believe you?

The reason I ask whether he listens to you is that, typically, the men dismiss the women in many domains, and I’m thinking that in the world of cars, the young men will dismiss the young women’s opinions. They won't take a "girl" seriously, possibly to their everlasting regret.

You don’t have an FR-S yet, right? Are you the young woman I saw posting some months ago about maybe buying an FR-S in February? It's been a while since I read that...
It might of been me I'm aiming for June tho..
No I never drove a rwd car before-but I'm excited to learn and know not to treat it the same way as my car now.
I was under the impression that rwd cars get stuck/slide more-but if it's mt you have an advantage of getting out? *shrugs*
He's a cool guy, I'm sure he would believe me if I told him something, I probably won't mention the fuel thing only because I don't want to come off as rude or anything lol. I'm sure the dealership told him it already anyway...
So far I haven't met a guy who knew more about cars than me and that says something since I know so little

I've been noticing that if I check these forums in the morning after last looking at it the previous night, that it seems as if I've already visited the site. I have no notifications when I should and my subscribed threads show no new posts, even though there has been. Anyone experience this?

Okay. It’s hard to remember details like that, reading in so many interesting threads. I was going to say that I just saw someone posting that they had just purchased a new BRZ well below MSRP, and possibly below invoice in New England. They cannot sell these cars up there in the winter, apparently, and they’re letting them go at remarkable prices. A BRZ Limited could be had for little more than an FR-S. (I’ve got the Limited.)

You’re in NY according to the little blurb on the side, and I thought it could be worth your while to drive up there if you were going to buy in February.

Good! So many younger people today express anxiety at the “fearsome prospect” of driving a RWD car. There’s nothing to fear. You can get seriously bent in either FWD or RWD.

While my wife and I were on the couch, partaking in some Fat Tuesday cocktails while watching Underworld, Rise of the Lycans, I posed a question that stirred quite the debate.

Do vampires fart? I would suppose if they were to feed on someone that has recently consumed some Mexican food or a tuna sandwich from Subway that it would be possible.

My wife responded how silly of a question that would be and equated it to asking if unicorns pooped. I responded, "of course they poop! But since they are unicorns, I bet it smells like flowers!"

But a vampires diet is mainly liquid, how would enough pressure build up in the intestines to allow farting?

I think you are thinking of vampires like zombies lol

Vampires drink blood - that's it. Almost positive if I eat a tuna sandwich my blood will not smell or taste like tuna haha

With that being said, how would my eating taco bell cause the vampire to now have the same gas I should/could be experiencing? Just not logical

To answer the question logically the assumption could be made that vampires do not in fact fart as they don't consume solids or food types that produce gas. If the Vampire eats human food well he's a farter simply put lol

Nice debate topic

"I'm sorry, but I don't want to be an Emperor, that's not my business. I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible, Jew, gentile, black man, white. We all want to help one another, human beings are like that. We all want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful. But we have lost the way.
Greed has poisoned men's souls, has barricaded the world with hate; has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.
We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in;
machinery that gives abundance has left us in want.
Our knowledge has made us cynical,
our cleverness hard and unkind.
We think too much and feel too little.
More than machinery we need humanity,
more than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness.
Without these qualities life will be violent and all will be lost.
The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal brotherhood for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women and little children, victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people. To those who can hear me I say: do not despair.
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass and dictators will die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people and so long as men die liberty will never perish.
Soldiers: don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you and enslave you, who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel, who drill you, diet you, treat you as cattle, as cannon fodder!
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men,
machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts.
You are not machines!
You are not cattle!
You are men!!
You have the love of humanity in your hearts.
You don't hate, only the unloved hate.
The unloved and the unnatural.
Soldiers: don't fight for slavery, fight for liberty!
In the seventeenth chapter of Saint Luke it is written:
- "The kingdom of God is within man."
Not one man, nor a group of men, but in all men: in you!
You the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness. You the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.
Then, in the name of democracy, let us use that power, let us all unite!
Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give you the future and old age and security.
By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power, but they lie. They do not fulfill their promise, they never will. Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people.
Now let us fight to fulfill that promise. Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness."

Thank you! It seems that this conversation has caused a bit of a stir on my wife's Facebook page!

You are certainly correct about zombie flatulence but due to the gasses generated by the decomposition process of the human body. Zombies would be passing gas whether they ate anyone or not regardless of their victim's diet. I bet their farts would smell like death too!

Hmmm, you may be on to something with the vampires though. If they ate human food, I bet their stomachs would respond a bit like someone who is lactose intolerant and severely punish their undead rectums. Maybe that's why vampires don't wear white. Afraid of the random splatter.

Haha well what I meant is that a rwd is not going to handle the same as my car which is front. If I go into every turn with the frs thinking its like my current car Im going to have some problems lol. Ive never experienced oversteering before and dont intend to unless on a track/empty lots. Ill admit, I take turns a little tooo fast I cant help it ...
AndThanks for the heads up but I have my eyes set on a FRS, still want to see what 2014 has to offer and I will also test drive other cars... I've been lazy with learning to drive stick. Also I know as soon as I sit in the frs my heart will break. So it's best if I continue to wait a bit

If you come in too hot with the FRS the rear WILL get loose. The nannies will keep you in shape, but if you have them turned off.. Turn into the slide gently and proportionately (takes practice) dont mash or quickly release the accelerator and ride the slide out. Keep your eyes and the front wheels pointed where you want to go and you'll go there. (again, takes practice) ..

RWD is far more fun than fwd could ever hope to be
