That will give me more freedom than can tunes. Be very similar to HPTuners. Who needs Cobb now?

So I fiddled a bit more with TimingIn and FuelOut compared to TimingIn which seems to be more raw with overall power vs. a bit more refined with FuelOut. Ill stick with TimingIn and sometime play with StandardTiming with FuelIn and FuelOut configurations.

Like Jack said each car is different. After swapping out my intake for the takeda, and switching out the exhaust I find the standard timings best. I haven't messed with the fuel variable yet, but we will see.

How do you adjust these? Do you need their tuning software? I'm guessing that's extra? I get my kit in today.

you can download the maps and play around that way. I'll be doing so, but not until it gets nicer out here. i'm going to spend about 6-8 hours in a local parking lot adjusting items on my suspension etc. anyways for this year's autox

I've downloaded the maps, how can I manipulate them? I must not have the software. Is there a tutorial somewhere? I'm interested in doing my own basic tuning to get things optimal.

I'm sure that this has been answered before but can I use a Mac for the maps? Like drag and drop the files into the map1 and map2 folders on the unichip?

Its nice I can use my laptop to upload the latest. I wonder if I can do data logging?

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aeTRpFRqsg"]Unichip Map uploading Software - YouTube[/ame]

The Flux2 Upgrade is my best option to get data logging and figure out how to hook it up. I think Unichip is becoming more convincing right now to go after for a tune before getting any hardware upgrades, except Cusco Strut Tower Brake LHD is a must. Need my taxes done.

Mac computers… the SW runs only in a Windows environment.

Manipulating maps… if the question is how to load maps into the Unichip, eFactor84 found his own answer… nicely done and thanks for posting that video. It’s from an old website, but it still conveys the idea.

If the question is, on the other hand, how to choose the best maps for your application and/or how to evaluate maps, I’m working on a guide which should be available early next week. Doing it right involves a bit more than just “feel” but you can start with what feels best and refine it from there.

Big picture, (1) go to the folder for the octane fuel you’re using, (2) Open the Fuel Standard Folder, then (3) open the Timing Standard Folder, and (4) then select the map for the bolt-on parts on your car.

The Unichip does datalog, but not the sort of log you’re probably used to. It data logs signals it’s tied into which is useful for tuning, but not anything special to look at. You need the UniTuner software for that functionality.

If anybody's in the market for a bundled CAI + Unichip package, we have two R&D parts to sell… see post #143... http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24864&page=7

Cheers

I installed mine today. Jack was a great help when I made an error on the install. It's raining but I'm hoping to log some more data and share my results soon.

You can see some pics and more info on my journal thread:

Is there a list of the parts that have been mapped that I missed? I looked in this thread, the Unichip EMS thread, and the Unichip map and downloads thread, but I might've overlooked it on accident.

It would be good if they kept a running list on the thread. It's essentially the Injen, AiRaid, and aFe intakes with many different combinations of with or without headers/cat back, etc. There are also some other fuel and timing level tunes that you can essentially bump up or down. Oh and also all of these tunes in 87, 89, and 91+ octane.

I think I posted in the other thread but for those interested in my review, I've posted it here:

disgruntld... we've completed calibrations for the Stock intake, all drop-in filters, the Injen, AiRaid, and Takeda intakes, and the Perrin CAI.

We also have maps for each of those intakes with cat back or axel back exhausts and each with headers and either a cat back or axel back.

We currently finishing the FA20 Club intake and will be doing the AEM and Vigilant CAI shortly.

Cheers
