In my experience the only drone I get is when i suddenly release the accelerator from full throttle, there is a sort of low frequency trumpet blow that give a half second drone. Nothing to bother you. If you drive it at low rpms then you don't have to worry. That's in fact what I like about it. It sounds good when you're having fun, but behaves when you are cruising.

I've had mine for about 6 months now and I really like the sound not too loud where I can't hear myself think. No steady drone at highway speed (slight at 1100RPM but the car never sits that low). It does get louder and the hardware they send with it is rather cheap. The bolts stripped and the gasket leaked but nothing $15 at NAPA couldn't fix.
