FRS / BRZ interior is one of the things I dislike in otherwise awesome car. Imagine what will happen to it if they go even cheaper.

the entire world would be all like "this car needs BT, why doesnt it have it? It should be at least 200hp, it should have power everything and a back seat big enough for 2 adults! It should be 15000 and not 20000. this car is epic fail to the highest power!"

These people should not purchase a performance car, bottom line. If they can't afford a car this cheap, then they won't be able to afford to maintain a performance car. Not to mention that a cheaper version will attract more new buyers which in turn will jack up insurance rates.

The world gets a great, budget minded performance car and they just ask for more. They just can't be happy with the awesomeness they are provided.
a little hypocritical to say people who cant (despite the fact that i think dont want to is a more appropriate term) afford it shouldnt buy one and in the very next sentence say your reasoning is because it will make the insurance more expensive. performance cars dont have to be expensive. in fact, the biggest reason for the success of cars like the frs, miata, gti, civic ect is because they are cheap

The Japanese supercars of the 90s like Supra, FD, etc would be close to Cayman prices in today's dollars. I think people sometimes forget how good we have it these days in terms of cheap performance cars.

btw there already is is an 86 for $20k, it's a stripped version called the RC model in Japan.
adjusting for inflation is not really how car cost works. even if it was, you adjusted for financial inflation but not for performance inflation.

similar to inflation, adjusting for currency rates is not really how car cost works.

You could give someone a hundred pounds of gold and all they'd do is bitch about how heavy it is...

With the insurance I was actually referring to these people being very young and inexperienced, hence jacking up my rates with their crazy antics. Not to say they are all young, but a large percentage of people who seek out these cars are kids who end up trashing the car.

i understand that. im just saying that there is irony about saying that if the car is too expensive, you shouldnt buy it and then complaining about how the insurance for the car would be too expensive.
