I have the N1 and its a pretty good sysyem. Its loud at low to mid rpms, and quiet at high rpms. The drone is ok and you get used to it after a while. Plus it has a nice deep tone that is just sexy...

Our cat-back exhaust has a deeper, more aggressive note under acceleration and only slightly louder than stock while cruising without annoying cabin resonance or drone. Many of our customers are pleased with our cat-back exhaust. We've integrated our race-proven patented Multi-core technology in our cat-back (PN-140496) to tune our cat-back note without restrictive chambers or baffles.
![]() Adding our UEL XR-1 Header will enhance the boxer engine note. This combination has been sound-tested (for you track guys) to comply 92dB(A) at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. We'll have our XR-1 catless mid-pipe released in a week for those looking for a complete Borla exhaust covered by our limited Million-Mile-Warranty! At Borla we know sound is subjective and not everyone can agree on the right sound. Later this month we'll have UEL & EL Header options offering a choice in sound and a catless Race Mid-Pipe for unrestrictive track-performance. These combined with our street-legal cat-back exhaust, and our unique exhaust diffuser offer the most comprehensive product integration designed to work together for the best performance, look, and sound for the FR-S/BRZ. Thanks for your interest in Borla! |

Tossing between Borla and Perrin resonated myself....
Don't want loud, just louderr and the Borla from sound clips sounds nice... The mention of slightly lower clearance is the reason the Perrin is also in the running as it doesn't have the same issue. Both same price... arg decisions..

The aftermarket support for this car is incredible. Get the exhaust you want based on sound/ performance. If you want a rear diffuser there will be plenty of options for that soon I would think.

I don't have a good video camera but there are a couple great links on here somewhere. Also I don't have my exhaust/downpipe yet but I got the offset. I heard one in person and got to drive it for a few minutes and it sounds nice. Not too loud, not too quiet.

I put my money down on the Borla Catback and I'm very pleased. Gets loudest as tach is passing 4000 rpms. Nice burble and pop. Looks great in the back. Tip blends with the rear better than most including the stock scion tip.
Especially noticed gains when doing 4000 rpm uphill drives. Some 3000 to 7000 revs below. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0w_jvzE4ZQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0w_jvzE4ZQ[/ame] Last edited by frsdiy; 09-08-2013 at 04:32 PM. |
