BRZ available for Ring rental

From March the 1st: Stage 2 BRZ available for the north loop.

http://www.rent4ring.de/en/info/rent...dschleife.html

Sounds like a nice spec and Ecutek remap too.

"The new Subaru BRZ (and its brother, the Toyota GT86) represent a new generation of driver focused sportscars that offer supercar thrills with 'normal' levels of power. A simple front-engined, rear-wheel-drive coupe, our rental BRZs are a blast to drive on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

• Stripped out and fitted with a full Wiechers rollcage, Recaro bucket seats and racing harnesses
• Lightweight Motec alloys fitted with Toyo R888 grooved semi-slicks
• Suspension replaced with Öhlins DFV coilover system, upgraded ARBs and Rent4Ring alignment
• Special racing exhaust by Milltek
• Upgraded brake lines, fluid and Endless Racing pads "

I recommend the track specific rentals. While you can drive onto the Nurburgring with any vehicle (including mini-vans!), the accident rate there is quite high. The days we were doing STI vs. Evo testing, there were about 4 accidents around the 'ring, and normal rental car agencies will *not* cover damage incurred on that particular road. And when you do have an accident, they close it down and call in the police to do a report, so no dodging that by claiming you were elsewhere.

While I was in the STI and holding my line, a caged 3-series attempted to go around me and went off into the dirt. He did come up and apologize afterwards, though, German drivers are both polite, and will admit when they've done something wrong. (In other words, always hold your line when doing the ring, even if you are in a Punto and there is a M5 behind you)

I rented a car from rent-racecar a few years back, had an awesome time.

I did a write-up of it over on NASIOC.

Right on! I also live in the area, I have a WRB BRZ since July, guess I won't be the only one in the area anymore.... We should get together for coffee when you get yours and its nicer out for the cars.

It's not really like this, it depends on your insurance.

The Nordschleife during Touristenfahrten is like a normal (toll) road, so it's valid as a road, in fact you can't overtake on the right and in case of accidents the Police check the situation.

It's different during OPL days, in that case is like a race track and so I agree with you and is better to rent - there are only a few exception like Destination Nurburgring events.

I have more than 150laps there, and first thing to forget at the Ring is "racing" you have to approach like a standard road with one way traffic and then push little more on every laps.

Why I would take a BRZ over an M3 or 911 is beyond me, but it would still be super awesome!!!
