Sorry John I have yet to replace my custom intake with the perrin but I am going to install it Sunday, send you logs, and close the ticket afterwards.

This may sound dumb but I'm not all that experienced with tuning. If I were to buy the tune, license, and cable, what would be the next step? Is it something where you'd have to go to a speedshop to apply the tune to the car or do you do it yourself?

Install some software on your phone. Plug in connection in your car to read some info. Send info to tuner, then he'll send you your tune. Then you connect to car again and flash the new file. Then have fun. It's really quite easy.

Tap'd via G-Note2...

This is a cool way that is becoming more realistic as time goes on, like my shop is now able to live to STIs on a phone, but we definitely don't.

The actual way to do this is you will hook the cord up to you cars OBDII and the other end to your computer. John, if you choose him, will send you a file that y download on your laptop and the open in the ecutek software, and flash to your car.

There is a really cool, and cheap, Bluetooth OBDII block you can buy and plug in and if you are on yuckie android (imma apple fanboi, but have an inactive Evo 4G for just this) you can buy an app called torque pro which allows you to monitor some pretty cool things in real time

Filled up with E85 for the first time in a while last night. Went out to start the car before cars and coffee this morning, 32F outside, started on the first attempt. Very impressed, @Visconti!

I'm running 1.09b3.

I'll be opening a ticket with some 3rd gear pulls for you to review in a few hours.

with EcuTek though? OP was asking about the process for flashing an EcuTek rom. Don't want him to be mislead and think that option would be available for him at this point.

Not that I know of, you can log and view almost everything, afr, oil pressure, coolant, literally damn ner everything in real time.

But I have not heard of flashing with it

Never thought of that. I would imagine it throwing it off pretty bad though, good post for everyone, some might do it not even thinking.

Finally got the funds together to get the cable and tune purchased and installed, and I'm not disappointed! v1.09b3 pump gas on Valentine's Day = falling in love with my car all over again!

Thanks John for dealing with my noob/uneducated emails on the process, I'll be sure to use the ticket system going forward now that I know where to find it!

Hey guys, what is the latest version of the stage 1 pump gas tune? I just checked and the one I am running is 1.06b9. I see that mikalem is running v1.09b3. Are there significant differences with the newer versions?

thanks
mike
