Funny, now that you mention it, I DID have to go back out to the parking lot and check because I forgot to check that the windows were up.

As to plowing snow, if the stuff is fresh and un-tracked, yeah, you pretty much do have to plow your way. Once you get out of the hood, you pretty much have ruts to follow. Welcome to winter.

Apparently I don't know how to drive cause even with snows I had trouble getting uphill in the shit we have today. Once I got on main roads I was perfectly fine but this car just doesn't like to get going in the deep shit.

Wonder how they compare to the new X-Ice 3s - there's probably a review somewhere.

As I'm reading this thread I thought I'd take a picture out my window.

Funny that nobody is coming in for test drives today. It's a beautiful day!

Pretty sure tirerack has a comparison of the Xi3's with the WS70's, Conti ExtremeWinterContact and a fourth one.... can't remember which one it is now. I ended up with the Contis. Really wanted the Xi3s but couldn't justify the extra cost. So far the Contis have been pretty good. Impressive grip in the dry. They don't seem to float quite as much as people on here say the WS70's do.

I would not have got out of the parking lot at work today if I was already driving my BRZ. As it is with my yaris (lowered on Tein S springs) it was a struggle. Then I almost got stuck on our street, the car being lifted by the deep snow.

Might have to rethink the lowering springs on the yaris next year as it will be my winter car.

Bit more snow on the way home and a lesson learned. If you are pulling out of a snow clogged intersection into traffic, push the traction control button to go into sport mode. Or turn off altogether.

While the car will pretty much dig though anything with the nanny turned on full, it does so at a very slow rate and your throttle foot no longer has anything to do with the process. VERY weird feeling.

Once you are moving in the stream of traffic, put the TC back on or be alert; sport mode allows you to get pretty sideways before it reels you back in. You end up scaring other drivers.

Was definitely pushing snow with the front end once I got into the hood, plows have not been anywhere near.
