Hey guys, does anyone know any machine shops that aren't swamped or have an option to pay to get your job to the front of the line?

I need to get my block machined as soon as humanly possible, and I will pay more to get it pushed ahead of other orders if needed.

Hi all!

I just picked up an Asphalt 6mt FR-S from Gillman Acura....2K miles.

Funny story...test drove the car, loved it, going through paperwork and saw the name on title for previous owner, recognized the name, and found out it was my tax guy and a friend. I called him and he told me he only drove the car to church on Sunday from the heights to the Woodlands.

So I bought the car to track it....autox it and dd it. I sold my 11 Shelby GT500 to do so. I am coming from a tracking a 94 miata with many mods.

I am ready for a set of wheels and tires that will keep the stock numbers but with much more grip. I'd also like to get a spoiler(for looks), suspension(coilovers) and better brakes and lines.

Can someone steer me in the direction of a good shop here in Houston that knows these cars? I want wheels and tires that will clear a bigger brake kit, and suspension work to keep a good balance on the track.

I will probably head out to Grandsport this Sunday to see how this car feels stock and then on to the mods....

any reputable shop should be able to do the installs for you if your not looking to do them yourself. I encourage you to get some hands on expirience on installs since you want to track/auto x the car. I cant recommend a shop based on work they have done (bc i havent had any done to my BRZ) however based on relationships i can recommend Jtran, Secret Services, D3 Performance Engineering.

Im all for renting a shop/lift for a day or two for group installs. Has this already been talked about?

Sorry, it's not the installs that I'm worried about. D3 already does virtually everything for me. We are just removing the block and getting it machined to fit custom sized pistons. I have worked with jTran before multiple times and they are great at most things as well.

I do most fluids, brakes, exhaust work myself. Suspension and paint are two things that I don't have equipment to do. I also don't know this car and wondered if there are people or shops that are more familiar with this car. I have a kwik lift in my garage if anyone is interested in working on the cars.

I do need advice on wheel and tire sizes for track work and what is working for most people. I also want something that looks decent.

Hey all!

I ordered my DMG Limited MT BRZ in early January from Gillman Subaru and was expecting to have to wait until at least May to get it. Lucky me, it came in earlier this week! I test drove it today, loved it, filled out the paperwork, and am picking it up on Monday! Sadly, I couldn't drive it home today. I'm getting my insurance sorted out on Monday.

It's my first self purchased car and I'm really excited. I've had some experience with driving stick, but this will be a first for having my own manual car. Hopefully once I get more experienced with driving it, I'll be able to get to some more of the fun stuff with this awesome car!

I hope to finally have mine in about 7 days from Sterling McCall, I've been on the hunt now for 2 months for my red base model FR-S.

Actaully this one will be my 2nd one ^_^. HOT LAVA!! We can file this under a lesson in patience. Got my first one at the end of May and didnt want to wait any longer so i snagged it up even though it wasnt the color i wanted (was going for white). Now after seeing all the colors in person, didnt really like my choice in the black. (Love the color, but I like brighter colors accented in black more). Getting mine through Demontrond. They actually have a red manual base model with after market black wheels. Looks sharp if anyone was interested.

Well that's good. We have a shortage of Hot Lavas when there is an event. Woody flies solo most of the time.

Been wanting to come out for awhile. Hopefully next month I'll have time now that work has slowed down.
