Not true, there are a few of us who have. I got my BRZ for invoice. 29k OTD for a limited with package 1b + some other accessory.

My dealership in Colorado is still offering invoice for BRZ's.

Now that the BRZ has been added to the VIP program, I'm bumping this thread to make it easier for guys to figure out the invoice minus 2% math on the final price.

So I haven't purchased one yet. I really want the brz limited with no extra packages or accessories. Now that we know what the dealer invoice price is. What are the odds that you can walk into a dealership and haggle and demand not to pay msrp and only pay 500 more than invoice or invoice price for that matter. Any strategies? Any recommendation or advice?

So they think if they get invoice that they got a great deal and got the dealer to come down as much as possible.. But, the dealer can still sell the car for invoice and make over $1k not including financing and other items.

I was really hoping the invoice margin was going to be bigger because I have that price pre-negotiated.. I could get the FR-S with the college grad $1k rebate as well, but I like the BRZ much more.
this is very f**king true! and the more people who know this the better! why get skimmed? "1 large" IS a fair profit on ANY new car! financing allows them to receive a "kickback" from the various banks. as mentioned, even at "true" invoice, they are doin' allright.

everyone has different method.
i always ask Out to door price (OTD) that includes all tax + dealer fees.
i don't know what state you are in so you gotta calculate taxes.

negotiate with dealer for price first and it doesn't work well then pay for MSRP. if they are not willing to negotiate or mark up and rip you off, then walk out.

you are not forced to purchase any car.
last thing you can do is just walk away.
even finalized the deal and you are about to sign the invoic, you can still walk away.

this is my first time purchasing Subaru car. most subaru dealers were very rude to me and lied when i arrived at dealer after talking on the phone.
i just walked out.

It's taking time to find good deal and availability of car (if not have to order like me) but that will benefit you in long term.

hope this helps you little.

I agree but they have to make $$ as well.
all business has to make $$ and it's their stragety.
if customers don't know well, pay up high price.

this is correct, but the bitch is, THEY CHARGE TOO MUCH for this "asshole" fee!
they pay a girl maybe $9.00 per hour to type this stuff up,and charge ya like a $300.00 dollar bill (or more!). good thing is if ya give 'em a hard time,SOME dealers will negotiate it,although they will tell ya they can't.

this is true! it's also why you need to get ''educated" BEFORE you walk into a car dealership! why pay more than you have to,unless you enjoy giving them money.personally,if i have to give money away,i would prefer to give it to the ''salvation army",not a f**king car dealership. just sayin'

I became a salesperson so I could get sweet deals on cars and so I could stop breaking my back as a mechanic. Won't see me paying too much for a car again, lol!
