If you are only looking for intake because it will sound mean and awesome, then I would look at Perrin or AFE offerings. If you are buying an intake more because of performance, I wouldn't do it. I would get a tune from Visconti, FA20, etc... and a drop in filter in the stock airbox. Performance wise, this makes more sense than an intake system.

If you plan doing big mods down the road (example, you plan on getting intake, exhaust, tune, bigger cams, redlining your car to 9K RPMS etc...) then I would either get an intake now (Perrin, AFE) or wait until I am ready to put down the big bucks so that the intake actually makes any difference.

Tough choices, think about it hard, and lay down a plan.
+1

Or if you plan on going force induction, then getting an intake for now is a waste of money.

i pretty much did what this guy reccomends. i got visconti tune, k&n drop in filter, and avo inlet pipe for good air flow. makes a mean noise at 4k+ rpm also.

now i gotta work on exhaust

I personally have the Injen Intake with the sound tube delete and couldn't be happier. There is a thread in the forums that put the intake on the dyno. Made an additional 15HP over stock at the wheel in 4th gear. The sound is a million times better. The artificial sound being tubed into the cab was always a turn off for me. I guess they wanted you to "hear" the speed since you can't feel it since it's not there. Now the sound is meaty not to mention...real. It can be loud too if you like the upper echelon of the tach.
