Sorry to get back on topic guys ;-) but on another thread it was mentioned that the OEM axleback muffler shape is designed to deflect the airflow under the rear section between the exhaust tips.
I looked under there and realised it really is an air dam now with that reverse curve into the airflow that previously had the big old OEM muffler living there. With all the trouble they've gone to in fairing the underside could that be responsible for the 6% higher fuel consumption since fitting the axleback or is it my right foot being dictated to by my ears?
Have a look under there. I think it would be worth experimenting to find an alloy underpanel to fit under the axleback, even attached to the axleback, to keep the airflow clean and stop that rear panel from being an air dam.
Could be another option - axleback with diffuser fitted.

My big reveal: they're already discussing it. I spoke with Jason last week and he was convinced they could do it, they just needed to run some models.

That's great! It's doing things like that which make more sense than lots of other mods. Ask them to please make it a retrofit for the other models if possible? We can always get welded on if that's the fitment.

Jason said it would clear their exhaust and probably plenty of aftermarket. Gotta ask him if he's had time to work on it at all.

Should be nice and light to airfreight and pay for itself in no time.

Can't stand the lightness in the rear now. The confidence from a diffuser is alone worth the price.
