When I was looking for a dart before my FR-S I saw a SRT Durango (this jeep has the same motor) and the sales man said it will pull 1/4 mile times well into the 11s and can even beat some stock GTR's. I laughed and thought man this guy is desperate for a sale... Looks like he wasn't lying...

Yeah thats for sure the worst part is that jeep bone stock can beat a serious number of high end sports cars from the you tube vids I saw it can consistantly beat the R8, SLR, and M5. The GTR is a wash because with 4wd it all depends on the start the others can have a better start but it can catch them if the GTR gets out front it normally stays there.

Yeah awd is very tricky to launch consistently that same Jeeps best time was a 10.6. But the supercharger is no longer standard and has to be bought separate for about $3k on new models but with just the hemi v8 it still runs 12.6 not too bad for an SUV. I think nos was used for the 10.6. But Talk about a sleeper a with new model 10 sec Jeep.

AWD launch in a stock GT-R is a joke...there's this little thing called launch control. Makes any wannabe 1/4 mile king look good, all one has to worry about is reaction times. My guess is dude left in LC too long, there is a window that you have to let off the brakes by when doing launch control...might explain how he kinda lurched off the line.

I might be getting the gt86 trd edition from my friend I'll trade him for mine and offer up some cash but he really hates the way it looks and has decided to sell it once he gets it here for an FR-S.

Hooray! PPE Engineering is installing my high flow cat pipe and cat back exhaust, as well as the new I Performance drop in air filter. I hope they can install their equal length headers.
Their air intake is still under development, so I am still waiting for it. |
