Some photos of the car on the RCE springs with TSW 18x8's +35 with 245/40/18's Dunlop Direzza's. Fits without rubbing, mainly because of the rounded edges of the Direzza's.

Wow that looks great. Can't wait to get my 18's back on the car now that I have the yellows installed. Hopefully I don't have any fitment issues with the 18x8.5 +44's. I only went with 225/40's though so I should be fine.

Loving my RCE's too. The drop does appear to be more than the advertised 20mm though once settled, which isn't a bad thing.

Aside from the added crispness in turn in in the front, did you notice any change in NVH or ride issues? Am basically just curious if I'm going to suffer a bit on ride in exchange for the extra cornering zing. My RS*R coilovers are 5k front/6k rear - nothing too aggressive. Not meaning to be a pain, my install shop was just warning me about this today before they install everything on the 28th so I thought I'd ask. Car looks hot BTW. Nice choice of wheels for the Lava.

as with any firmer durometer bush their is always a higher feedback from road surface. I wouldnt worry about it, i have upgraded bushes on my other cars and it is something you get used to, a little more race car.

On this car, there was a slight difference in NVH - I think. Not saying I'm not sensitive enough to notice, it's just that this isn't exactly a quiet car, or an isolated from the road experience. Throw in the new rubber, etc, and I'm hard pressed to pinpoint any difference due to the bushings.

Thanks, I guess I won't worry about anything too drastic then.
I'll report back in my own thread post-install.

Longer term follow-up - I've been on the RCE Springs for about 7000+ miles now, with the initial trip to California for Subiefest, then another trip to Vegas for SEMA, then finally a few thousand miles of general testing. I've been through several drift practices with them and the turbo kit, and they've held up quite well. Handling is as good as ever, and have had zero issues with them.
One a few videos taken with them on. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPOwiw0s4xw"]AVO Turboworld - Turbocharged FR-S Drift Sessions Jan 2013 - YouTube[/ame] |
