Cool. It is intense and loads of fun. Here is a link to the AZSolo home page, it has a walk through video and a tab with novice information. http://www.azsolo.com/

Since you are new, it is especially important to arrive as soon as you can after the gates open. There is a little prep that needs to be done to the car, you need to complete registration, go through tech, andyou should walk the course as many times as possible. If you need instruction, we have instructors to help out. (it really helps - even though I am an instructor, I still seek instruction)

Hello, everyone.

I've been following this thread, mostly because of the autocrossing information. I'm tempted to do this next one but I don't know anything about it. My car is completely stock, if that makes any difference.

I just saw about preparation work. What does that entail?

Also, my car just passed 1,000 recently; should I wait until I get more mileage before subjecting it to the autocross event?

If you are past the break in you should be fine to autocross car prep is mostly taking the spare tire and tools out and making sure nothing is loose in the car only takes a few minutes. It's a lot of fun and your not running the car hard for more that about 1min at a time a total of around 8min it doesn't sound like much but once you try it you will be hooked.

Following up on Jasper, the only other prep is a little extra air in the tires.

Jasper is right, I can be a little busy in the mornings (AMP was nuts), but I am never too busy to help a newcomer out.

I have been doing autox for almost six years now and I will attest that the FR-S is just plain fun at an autox. It is light, balanced, and agile.

Btw, I was on the fence for a few months before I got the gumption to give autox a shot. I was worried about looking foolish or doing poorly, but nobody makes fun of a newbie. Now If I screw up, I definitely hear about it, sometimes again, and again, and again.

If you do register, make sure you sign up for TO runs. It'll make the day longer, but the runs are cheap and you can ride with drivers who are fast, which helps with learning how to drive fast.

I signed up for the TO runs as well. I have a buddy that I work with that has been doing autox for a while but he drives an S2000 and would prefer to see me fail miserably so he can make fun of me each time I walk by his office. So I'll bug either Evil86 or Jasper for help.
